Just playing catch up and I do enjoy your parking tips. I really never thought of doing that and it does save you $14 each day. Must have been exhausting having to wake up early in the morning. I honestly always forget about the back path between Tomorrowland and Toontown when we visit it. Apparently we both were in MK on the 3rd this year! Awesome pictures and videos!
Can't wait to read the rest of your report!

Re: Reporting from Disney World July 2010
Ok, time for some more reports! I have been so busy, vacations are wonderful but the work that is there when you return is horrible!
4th of July...
After a morning baseball game that my son's team won (yay!)...

We took off for EPCOT Center. My entrance of choice was the International Gateway from The Boardwalk. This is by the way another way to avoid the $14 parking fees at EPCOT Center. But even though parking is free for us as annual passholders, it's a nice a quiet way into EPCOT.
We went directly through England and Canada to go to Future World, first stop SOARIN' fast pass!

Then right next door to ride on Finding Nemo. This is such a cute ride. However, I really miss the Living Seas pre-show and the original ride... but this is lots of fun too and the way Nemo and friends are projected into the main tank at the end is clever!

mine, mine, mine....

Now it's on to Journey into Imagination followed by Captain EO. We love Figment, that ride never gets old even though I have been on it a hundred times! (or more)! Here is my youtube video of Journey... http://www.youtube.com/user/cousininmia ... guzz6czzbE

Wow, seeing Captain EO again was totally cool! I hadn't seen in it so many years and my 14-yr old son had never seen it! He loved it, "wow Mom this is soooo cool!" He wanted to go on immediately again, but we promised for sure later! Then we went over to Spaceship EARTH. I think I could ride this every day. The animatronics are amazing, and reminds me of some of the older original rides like Horizon's and World of Motion. Hey a bonus, the TRON Monorail just came by!

Next post will be off to the countries.... we were hungry!
Walking to the countries on the way to Mexico!

GREAT PHOTOS!!! Looks like the parks were busy regardless of the heat and humidity.

I can vouch that it was not that hot and humid over the 4th of July. Hurricane Alex although he hit Texas, kept a lot of cloud cover and stormy activity around the area.mindflipper wrote:GREAT PHOTOS!!! Looks like the parks were busy regardless of the heat and humidity.
Nice report of the 4th of July, but saddening for me to see the parks carrying on the day we left for our return to normalcy.

Great pictures with your report cousininmiami! I've got the Imagination ride through video buffering now...anxious to see what the newest version looks like since I think it has changed since I was last there 10 years ago...
EDIT: Yup, totally different ride...better than the last incarnation we saw, but still disappointing for a ride based on Imagination!

I don't know Len, some of those kids look awful sad in one of those photos. I think they were sad you guys had already left the parksLen90 wrote:Nice report of the 4th of July, but saddening for me to see the parks carrying on the day we left for our return to normalcy.

Re: Reporting from Disney World July 2010
Why saddening? To me, I can depart the parks because I know it will be there for my return again some day, and that it will always be there for others to enjoy as well. It's nice to know that a world of wonders is not fleeting or solitary, but there all the time for all to enjoy. As saddening as it's to return to "normalcy", it's the opposite to have the knowledge Disney World is still there even if I'm not there to experience it.Len90 wrote:Nice report of the 4th of July, but saddening for me to see the parks carrying on the day we left for our return to normalcy.

Hmmm, that is actually quite profound mindflippermindflipper wrote:Why saddening? Wow some strong words of wisdom from Mindflipper. I like what you said and it does open up another way to view departing.mindflipper wrote:Why saddening? Amy, those sad kids are most likely on their last day. It's the preliminary going home face.
You know I forgot to mention how much I loved the pictures of EPCOT. Great shot of the interior of the Land pavilion. I always find it very tough to get a decent shot of the inside.

Re: Reporting from Disney World July 2010
Time for some more pictures, I hope you guys aren't getting tired of this.
Off to Mexico! They seem to be coming along on the new restaurant, here is a picture of the new restaurant going up and the original Mexico facade.

There is the new Tequila "cave" inside of Mexico, it's really cool! lots of different kinds of tequila to try!

And while in Mexico, I buy a little handpainted trinket every time we go in!

We rode the little ride in Mexico, and although I think I still like the original one before the changes, it is quite cute. Time to move on to Norway, ride Malestrom and get a sweet treat! (following our eat and drink a little something in every country, besides we needed to soak up a little tequila)

Skipping continents, we head off to China, to share a Chinese beer (not my favorite) and a couple egg rolls then watch the wonders of China movie. Again, not the same as the original one, why did they have to change it??? I loved the old one!

Next we hit the little African outpost, I think they could do a better job with this area, but there is quite a bit of interest here because the World Cup was going on during that time. My son bought an official world cup soccer ball! He thought it was really cool, I just thought it was another thing for Mom to carry! I don't mind though because I know whats next, wine in Germany! I always purchase the Wine Tour. It's $20 and you get (2) 2 oz glasses of wine in Germany, (2) in Italy and (2) in France. Yay!

Done with Germany but looking off in the distance behind Canada, I see the big blue building. I thought maybe had had too much to drink so far, but remembered the big blue post somewhere here on Sub so I took a picture of it!

Ok... work is now getting in the way, gotta go to a meeting! Write more later! Hope everyone is enjoying the pics!
