We checked out Aquatica last year and even though it's not Disney, it was pretty nice. Not crowded and laid out very well. Plus they have 2 lazy rivers, one slow, one fast. I recommend it... for a day trip during a longer Disney vacation, of course.
NaCler!!! Recommending a non-Disney park?! Bad dog! No biscuit!

 Typical... ;)

...to add a tidbit to the Wet n' Wild discussion, we had one here for quite a while and I used to go several times every summer (not a lot to do here if you're underage after all) and I remember the lines being long and the bottoms of my feet burning. The lazy river and the raging rapids were my 2 fave things to do.

That makes the trip extra special too ~ extra time with your Mom! I remember going with my Mom to her class reunion (she grew up in Englewood, Florida), spent a four day weekend...got to go enjoy a few beaches and all, but it was such torment knowing Disney was a few hours away and I c-o-u-l-d-n-'t go :(
