I use a double boiler rig I made with an electric tea kettle ,which is more controllable and less likely to scorch the chocolate. I have actually been getting the chocolate that is meant for fountains. It saves the step of adding any other ingredients, making the ears less like a Hershey bar and more like the fudgey mickey ears we know and love. I have found that it helps to make sure that the rice crispy mix is settled well in the container its molded in. If the bar is just left to harden it makes for floppy crappy mickey bars. I write Walt Disney quotes on the stick so after you eat the bar theres still somthing left to enjoy! I guess thats and extra nutty Disney thing to do

That is going to have me chuckling all day! "floppy crappy mickey bars"! Where else can you find such a statement and have it mean so much
I will have to look into buying the "fountain" chocolate. That is a great tip, since I would have just assumed it was chocolate chips...
And handwritten quotes on the sticks ~ I hope whoever you made these for appreciates how much effort you put forth! :D

They are delicious so most people get pretty excited about mickey bars too. The quote thing... not so well appreciated, I modify it for non Disney nuts. I write stuff like "goofys going to be mad you ate his rice crispy" I make a template so I can make several sticks at a time quickly.

Ok, this one confirms DW's and I room at the WDW Nut house. You know you are a WDW nut when DW and myself are playing "where in the world" is Len90 and his family during dinner. I was pulling up park hours on my iPhone and we were trying to figure out where they would be right now.

Yea I've been following them on facebook also. We also have three friends and a cousin at WDW right now (every is writing on facebook). Nobody knows the other people, so I'm playing are any of them at the same place right now. You have to figure between my nephew (He's a CM at the MK), Len and Mark, three friends (who don't know each other), and Baloo's cousin all at the parks right now, somebody has had to pass somebody else in the crowd.

Jacca - Make sure you check all their photos. Maybe Len, Mark or your friends show up in each others pictures! :)

I leave tomorrow to go to WDW for 9 days!! Maybe I'll run into someone... guess I should have gotten a Subsonic T-shirt! I seriously can't wait. I've been to the parks so many times, like my home away from home. But every time I go my heart skips a beat again, and I become that little kid in the 60's in Disneyland. Been to WDW hundreds of times... but every time is like the first, I will be smiling and skipping through the parks like a dork! If anyone wants to be a friend on Facebook, my really real name is Kelly Lawrence (aka cousininmiami!). I'll be the blonde running around with 3 cameras!

I'm thinking beyond the 3 cameras (I'm virtually mouskedrooling over the potential pictures for the trip report!) you'll also have a gaggle of friends and family surrounding you as well! ;)
I think I found you on facebook?! Hopefully...

I wonder if we should start a "You know you're a SUBSONIC nut when..." thread?

You know you're a SUBSONIC nut when...

...you go on a week long trip to Walt Disney World, and - when you tell everyone you don't check your e-mail and just tune out the outside world - you still find yourself checking to see what gets posted on the subsonic board anyway.  :mickey:
