Displaying track names in windows media player?

Post by DoctorK » Jun Wed 30, 2010 8:04 am

Is there any way for windows media player to display the actual track names on the background channel? All mine displays is "SubsonicRadio.com - Disney Theme Park Audio and Music," but it would be great to know what track is playing. I'm not sure if this is a setting on my end that I don't have right, or a setting on the server end that is set to *not* display the track name.
Thanks,
Doc

I don't think the server has a setting for it as it used to display the track names for me when I played the stream through WinAmp. Now that I play it in Windows Media Player I have lost that capability. It is probably a configuration on the player itself but I have not found it yet. If I know the powers that be, I think their answer will be... "just use WinAmp." :D

Unfortunately, I don't have winamp at work and I can't install programs here, so I'll just have to suffer through the vague recollection of familiar-sounding background music... "Is that from Animal Kingdom? or Epcot?"
Thanks,

If you're not sure, just keep humming the song over and over and over until you get home and hope it comes up again relatively soon so you can figure out it's name ;)

Actually, last night I noticed the Journey to imagination restroom loop was playing, and DW and I made a few jokes about, doesn't it feel like we're in thr bathroom, etc... This morning I recognized it because of that!
Thanks,
