If that is the case then you will need the 9PM and 11PM showings or to get a place by one of the circles.
As for the monorail, taking the resort monorail is a great way to skip the long line at the express monorail. It is the second stop on the resort monorail and it ends up making the trip in slightly more time than the express.

Another great spot is train station area that overlooks Main Street. But I have to warn, that spot can fill up hours before the parade with people securing their spots for the parade (especially what seating is available up there).

Not to mention that if you take the Resort Monorail to MK (third stop from TTC on Resort) in the morning on a busy day, you will get there about the same time as the people who would have been in front of you in the line on the ramp to Express but they will be standing as long as you would probably be sitting down (even if you don't get a seat when you board at TTC, chances are that at least one family/party will exit at Poly or Grand Floridian) in the AC of the Monorail.

All I can say is that this year unlike most years, they seem to have gone slack on the rules, which I don't mind, I've seen people hanging around light posts, I saw people chillin in garden bushes and standing on tall posts, only in certain areas though. Its great parade. Always one of the best parades, even with the subtle new changes. bend the rules don't break them.

Everyone has their own opinion on this (like your own best kept secrets, if that's possible) but we like to sit in the Tomorrow Land Noodle Station Terrace. Of course you don't get a close up view, but you're not packed in like sardines and you can sit in a chair. It's also a great view of the castle changing colors, and you can get some fantastic photos of the castle.

My vote is for Frontierland/Liberty Square area. If you're wanting a less crowded area, it is MUCH less crowded for parades than Main St. or the hub area. There are also a few good spots for sitting on planters or curbs over there.
However, if you can deal w/ the crowds, my fav spot is still on Main St. and then walk up to the hub area for the fireworks. But you have to "stake out' your spot about 1 1/2 hours before the parade.
Also wanted to add that on some days when the parade isn't listed as running twice, it sometimes does - we were there when it was listed only at 9pm and the crowds were such that disney did a second parade. It could have been planned but not publicized or planned at the last minute due to the amount of people there.

Last visit ( July 2010) I found a great spot in Liberty Square right around the corner from the Liberty Tree to the left as you look at Tom Sawyer Island. The roped off area is in front of a raised planted area so you can lean against the planter and the rope is so close that it is designed for only 1 deep so no one blocks your view....the downside of this "perfect" spot is when it rains , as it did the night I found this spot, you are stuck until the people next to you decide to leave.....but it is still a great spot!!
