Mets are playing a decent Yankees team. They did luck out with a batch of easy road games which they did what they had to do on them. I do take this road trip as a confidence builder and something that can be valuable in helping settle the road woes that the Mets have had this season. With all that said, the Mets are looking pretty decent and I think that if they can keep close to this level of play, there is no reason why they can't stay as a Wild Card team if not a division champion. All the small moves have fallen into place and the Mets have been getting solid pitching. The hits are coming as they are now batting with the mentality of putting the ball in play and not going for the fences. Nice to see there is something for me to watch this summer!

The halos took 2 of 3 games vs. the Cubbies, but lost 12-1 yesterday :(...I think the guys were sightseeing yesterday!

Oh well, hubby's happy.... :D

Mets have done pretty well against the AL too. It is nice to see the NL teams showing some strength. As for our division, it looks like it has the potential to be a three way race. I think the Philthies will get hot again after the all star break. Braves will probably cool down slightly but should stay as a contender. And the Mets, well I'm not going to hold my breath on them. As for the Marlins, they need to start stepping up if they want to open up the division to a 4 way race. However, I think the Nationals will remain as the bottom dwellers this season once again. I do think they are maybe one or two players away from making 5 decent teams in the NL East. I am really expecting a very tough division to develop in the coming years. It should be fun!

Says the guy whose team just had a weekend series against the Royals. The Mets don't get to play the Royals at all this season, due to always having six games scheduled against the Yankees, and you want to talk about an artificial schedule. Oh and by the way, the Mets have played the NL East very well, in fact they're 4-1 so far this season against your Braves.

If the Braves are eating up the AL this month then the Red Sox are eating up and... well, using the toilet afterward with the NL.

No. Not this year. The Sox are playing the PCL... I mean the NL West. 8-1 so far.

kcarts - We lost 2 out of 3 against the lowly Indians, then got swept by the Tigers, then swept by the White Sox... We can't play the AL apparently. Although we did win the first one against the Royals. I'd hate to see what the Red Sox would do to us!

Nah you don't want to lose three games straight right now. Your team is in too good shape.

Just remember the Mets have played division games already. As stated the 4-1 record against your braves and let's not forget the shutout sweep of the Philthies. Also Mets went 3-3 against the Yankees this year and should have won more, but they kept handing the games over to the yankees.
