no, I don't count that as a real movie as it was made-for-tv shown on the Disney Channel. The one that zenmondo mentioned. it was so bad that I won't even say the name outloud or write/type it.spaulo wrote:Would that be Tower of Terror starring Steve Gutenberg?

Welcome to the forums Skull Rock and great avatar.
Yep... I hope it'll be one day. I just don't think upper management has the vision to do it.

I think it's worse than that. Rather, I think many in management are convinced that a ride *needs* tied-in themeing and that those rides that don't have it only work because people know them as "classics"...subsonic wrote:Yep... Of course, this simply ensures they'll never again make another true "classic," but I don't think they care...

Well, they have done a non-tied-in E-ticket recently if you consider Mission:Space. It's still a thrill ride though.

No, but it's a thrill ride. I'm looking for something that's like HM and POTC. A ride that's great because the amount of emmersion and detail. Something original! I can't think of anything that's on par with HM, POTC, and the Old Submarine Voyage.

That one is like Indiana Jones, but with dinosaurs. Same kind of jeep and bumps and turns and scares. It doesn't have a tie-in with a movie, but I don't know if it's a "classic."Club33Hopeful wrote:I've never been on it, but what about the Dinosaur ride at WDW?

what really qualifies an E-ticket status? Cuse a great immersion ride/attraction that does not have a movie tie in would be Kilimajaro safari in AK. Also, things like Universe of Energy or El Rio del Tiempo at Epcot. El Rio is immersive in the way the isaw is at MK. Now, I uderstand these things are at WDW and not DLR, but I think they still hold true to the topic we're currently discussing.

Actual E-Ticket attractions at Disneyland or WDW were: Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, Country Bear Jamboree, It's A Small World, Jungle Cruise, Space Mountain, Hall of Presidents, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Mine Train Through Nature's Wonderland, the Pack Mules, Monorail, Matterhorn Bobsleds, Enchanted Tiki Room, and Submariner Voyage...
Basically... the cool ones. Examples of D-Tickets included PeopleMover, Rocket Jets, Flight to the Moon, Storybookland Canal Boats, Skyway, the Mark Twain and Columbia, etc...
Recent creations that would be considered "E-Tickets" are Indiana Jones Adventure at DL, Rock'n'Rollercoaster at D/MGM and WDSP, Soarin' and Screamin' at DCA, Mission:Space and Test Track at Epcot, etc...
Also FYI, the Fantasyland dark rides.... absolute classics, to be sure... were all C-Tickets

Duh, I completely forgot about Epcot Attractions. At least the early ones. ALL of those were great. Great detail and emmersion.
