I like the idea of a Pixar themed land to get Pixar out of the other parks. Please don't get me wrong...I LOVE Pixar and the movies that have been put out by the studio. What I have a problem with is the improper theming of lands/attractions.

Nice! I like Pixar too but there is certainly enough Pixar stuff to easily fill a "land"MmeLeota wrote:I like the idea of a Pixar themed land to get Pixar out of the other parks. Hmmm... the DHS hat has been there since my first visit to the parks, so I can't say for sure, but it does seem that the Chinese Theater was a better centerpiece for the park. Anyone have any pre-hat pictures of Hollywood Boulevard? It would be great to see them for comparison.
I'd love to see Disney make better use of Streets of America. Those huge backdrops should definitely stay, but it's almost a bit creepy to walk by all of those empty, dusty shops. Almost like a ghost town. I wouldn't suggest anything that would disrupt the theme of the area, but maybe incorporate some Main Street USA-type stores just to get give it a little life.
I agree that the GMR needs a serious update. All of the movie choices are perfect (and should NOT be changed), but the animatronics look hopelessly dated. Spruce those up, and I could easily see it being one of my favorite rides at DHS.
Finally, get rid of the Journey into Narnia. I know the franchise was a big money-maker, but it definitely doesn't need its own exhibit.

Don't think that is going to happen with the next film coming out at year-end!ajg1993 wrote:Finally, get rid of the Journey into Narnia. I know the franchise was a big money-maker, but it definitely doesn't need its own exhibit.

I think some of the Star Wars characters should be available for meet-and-greets year round. Not many of them; maybe just Vader and Chewbacca. And that's all. I'm pretty satisfied with the Studios, overall.
Re: What would you change in the Studios?
I would change the layout of the studios, since it's quite confusing and disjointed the way it is. Maybe I haven't been to the park often enough but I don't "get" where everything is like I do with Epcot, AK and MK.

I would have to agree, there is that weird spot in the back of the studios by HIST playground and the movie set streets - that seems hard to get aroundBrian845 wrote:I would change the layout of the studios, since it's quite confusing and disjointed the way it is. That's because it was never meant to be guest-accessible. When DHS first opened, the guest-accessible area pretty much ended at the end of Hollywood Blvd. There was no Sunset Blvd, and the 2-hour backlot tour started at the entranceway to what is now Animation Courtyard. Everything else in the park was the "studio" part (which was an actual movie/television studio). As the park ceased to be a working studio and the need for capacity increased, more areas were opened up to guests. It was all done rather haphazardly, and that's why DHS (especially the back half) is so confusing to navigate.Amy wrote:I would have to agree, there is that weird spot in the back of the studios by HIST playground and the movie set streets - that seems hard to get aroundBrian845 wrote:I would change the layout of the studios, since it's quite confusing and disjointed the way it is. This is cool Future Guy ~ I never knew that before. I usually have no problems getting around and always thought I had some sort of weird "dead zone" with my navigational skills back thereFuture Guy wrote:That's because it was never meant to be guest-accessible. More rides/attractions! Especially towards the back of the park - we only walk back there every few trips because there's not much there to do that we're interested in.
Can't wait to take my twin boys on their first trip to Walt Disney World! Planning on heading there sometime Feb-May 2014!

The Studios has so much potential...and I hope that one day Disney realizes this..and does something with it. First, I think they need to turn Sunset Blvd into what it should be..and that is classic Hollywood...they have done a pretty good job of it so far...I just want them to continue to add to it....I love Pixar Place..and I think they need to fully utilize that space (and they are with some fun additions that will be coming in the near future)....I think they need to expand the Muppet presence in the park...which is a conversation for another forum...and then finally...I think they need to do a total overhaul of the Indiana Jones/Star Wars area...I understand that there are still a huge number of Star Wars fans out there..buuuuuuut I think its time to do something else with that area......and lastly...they need to replace the Stunts show...with something else....something that wont get outdated so quickly.

The only problem I have with the whole Indy/Star Tours area is that it gets jammed up bad. Especially during the Jedi Academy. It will probably be worse after Star Tours 2.0 opens.

If anything Disney needs to add and update the Star Wars area! There needs to be more, much more.

How about some sort of ride and or attraction area based on the National Treasure series??? That would be cool!

Re: What would you change in the Studios?
Hmmmmmm, given how there's a third one in the works it surprises this idea hasn't happened yet. And Nick Cage is desperate for some cash flow, so he should be agreeable to film the little bits for it as well. Could do a half ride/half coaster thing like Universal did with the Mummy.cousininmiami wrote:How about some sort of ride and or attraction area based on the National Treasure series???
