I agree with Mindflipper and Jacca! That's a really pretty cat, and nice picture, too.
So anyway, while I appreciate my DW's efforts, the iphone pics really don't do our cats justice. So here's some "real" pictures of our kitties.
This is Kiotu:

Aren't they just the cutest....?

Those are GREAT photos, Mouskedude! Kiotu does remind me of Bobtail I fostered (the white fur with grey spotting).Mousekedude wrote:I agree with Mindflipper and Jacca! That's a really pretty cat, and nice picture, too.![]()

Is Audrey a Maine Coon? She reminds of one I rescued for adoption more than a year ago:

Good observation, Mindflipper! Audrey is indeed Main Coon! Well, to be fair, she does have some Tortoise-shell Persian somewhere in the woodshed, but she is mostly Main Coon.
Re: Post a Pic of Your Cat
Those are two little beauties Mousekedude and two completely different looks.
Kiotu has that ok you've got my interest look and Audrey is more oh no not again must you take another picture of me.

Re: Post a Pic of Your Cat
Well, here is "How to Give a Cat a Pill" It doesn't have the pictures anymore which are adorable but the text is pretty darn funny all by itself...
How to Give a Cat a Pill
1. Pick up cat and cradle it in the crook of your left arm as if holding a baby.
Position right forefinger and thumb on either side of cat's mouth and gently apply pressure to cheeks while holding pill in right hand. As cat opens mouth, pop pill into mouth.
Allow cat to close mouth and swallow.
2. Retrieve pill from floor and cat from behind sofa.
Cradle cat in left arm and repeat process.
3. Retrieve cat from bedroom, and throw soggy pill away.
4. Take new pill from foil wrap, cradle cat in left arm, holding rear paws tightly with left hand. Force jaws open and push pill to back of mouth with right forefinger. Hold mouth shut for a count of ten.
5. Retrieve pill from goldfish bowl and cat from top of wardrobe. Call spouse in from the garden.
6. Kneel on floor with cat wedged firmly between knees, hold front and rear paws. Ignore low growls emitted by cat. Get spouse to hold head firmly with one hand while forcing wooden ruler into mouth. Drop pill down ruler and rub cat's throat vigorously.
7. Retrieve cat from curtain rail. Get another pill from foil wrap. Make note to buy new ruler and repair curtains. Carefully sweep shattered figurines and vases from hearth and set to one side for gluing later.
8. Wrap cat in large towel and get spouse to lie on cat with head just visible from below armpit. Put pill in end of drinking straw, force mouth open with pencil and blow down drinking straw
9. Check label to make sure pill not harmful to humans and drink one beer to take taste away. Apply band-aid to spouse's forearm and remove blood from carpet with cold water and soap.
10. Retrieve cat from neighbor's shed. Get another pill. Open another beer. Place cat in cupboard, and close door onto neck, to leave head showing. Force mouth open with dessert spoon. Flick pill down throat with elastic band.
11. Fetch screwdriver from garage and put cupboard door back on hinges. Drink beer. Fetch bottle of scotch. Pour shot, drink. Apply cold compress to cheek and check records for date of last tetanus shot. Apply whiskey compress to cheek to disinfect. Toss back another shot. Throw tee-shirt away and fetch new one from bedroom.
12. Call fire department to retrieve the darn cat from the top of the tree across the road. Apologize to neighbor who crashed into fence while swerving to avoid cat. Take last pill from foil wrap.
13. Using heavy-duty pruning gloves from shed, tie the little *&#%^'s front paws to rear paws with garden twine and bind tightly to leg of dining table. Push pill into mouth followed by large piece of filet steak. Be rough about it. Hold head vertically and pour two pints of water down throat to wash pill down.
14. Consume remainder of scotch. Get spouse to drive you to the emergency room. Sit quietly while doctor stitches fingers and forearm and removes pill remnants from right eye. Call furniture shop on way home to order new table.
15. Arrange for RSPCA to collect mutant cat from hell and call local pet shop to see if they have any hamsters.
How To Give A Dog A Pill
1. Wrap it in bacon.
2. Toss it in the air.

LOL, Sleepy90, it's almost as if you read their minds.
I can't tell you what a hassle it was to get those pics. Kiotu was a little easier because she's a natural camera ham, but Audrey is way more neurotic and harder to get a good picture of because she won't sit still. Good observations!

Amy, that has to be the funniest version of that joke that I've ever seen. I about died laughing because it's so true! Aside from giving the cats pills, it also applies to any time we try to bathe them, and especially to every time we try to shave Audrey.
Full story: Audrey loves it when she's shaved to look like a lion. Except that she only loves it when it's all done... she hates the actual process... see above joke.

I have no problem giving my cat pills in the past. She has these green square shaped snacks she loves called Dentabytes. I take an Xacto-knife and carefully hollow out the dentabyte from one side. I then slip the pill in, and turn the snack over so the side with the hole is facing down. Then I feed her the dentabyte. It's worked to date with no problem.

I had a piano family that gave their exceptionally furry grey kitty a "lion" cut. It looked so cool but the cat would sulk for days because it hated it! Now I have a piano family that does that to their dog. The dog doesn't care!Mousekedude wrote:Amy, that has to be the funniest version of that joke that I've ever seen. Northernmousefan2007 ~ Thanks for sharing that pic of Patches! What a beautiful kitty! (and I love it when they lay like that with their paws crossed..)
Mousekedude ~ Oh yes...Kiotu is definitely one cute kitty! I love Audrey too! (No, not that Audrey 2!!!
) Audrey reminds me of Thelma...and it sounds like she has the same attitude
Amy ~
That was hilarious!!! We had to give Ella some pills at one point. She would jump on the bed, knowing that it was pill-time but she would certainly try her best to not take it! She liked to hide it in her mouth somewhere and as soon as I felt her swallow I'd let go. Two seconds later, the pill is on the bed! Ususally I'd it to her again and she'd finally take it. Children

Hurrah imageshack is working again.
This is the new addition to my family. She had been living in the car park outside the place that I work for nearly eight months, everyone including myself thought she was a feral cat. Then she started to look very scabby and we were all quite worried about her. One morning on my way into work she came across to me crying, I've had cats before and know feral cats just don't do this. Over a period of days I befriended her and then I was able to stroke her but she would not let anyone else near her. I brought an old cat basket from home and managed to get a hissing spitting fiend into it, then we stopped at the vet on the way home to get flea-ed and wormed, I thought we would have trouble but she came out and went back into the basket like a little angel.
Once home she hid under the chairs for days and so got the name Hidey. This is her after about three months at home still very wary of anyone but myself and DH.

and this is her now doesn't she look like the cat that got the cream.

Probably not the cat you would have picked at adoption but she picked me.
