I'll be honest and say that I liked the wand for the first year or two when it said 2000 on it. It was a neat thing for the millennium celebration that was going on. However after that it was just terrible. Every time I went there when it said the park name, the hand was faded. Now that it is gone, nothing beats getting a picture of SE with the sun at your back on a perfectly sunny day.

I'm not a traditionalist, but I was glad to see the wand go. Like Len90, it was cool for the millenium celebration but once that passed it overstayed its welcome. The Spaceship Earth globe is iconic enough, the wand make it look like it trash.

Definitely without. It's much cleaner, and fits in better with the theming of Future World without it. I liked it back in 2000, though, but once they replaced it with Epcot, it started to get annoying.

I prefer Spaceship Earth without the wand. It was nice for 2000 but I didn't want to keep it there.

Ok, I'll weigh in as someone who liked the wand. <.< Someone else voted yes but isn't brave, I guess.

I know I'm in the minority but I can never get over the old Marvel comic Impossible Man where IM plays golf with Spaceship Earth. It's back to golf ball mode now for me.

No Sir, didn't like it. Didn't like it one bit!

So glad it is a hunk of junk somewhere. Hopefully recycled and put to some better use. Beer cans maybe?

The wand overstayed it's welcome but I understand why they left it. The built a huge expensive rig to have that wand and they weren't going to rip it down until even the nuclear submarine Disney visitors had seen it.

LOL I do recall trying to get a look at the structure. It looked like a lot of steel rigging was used to put up the hand.

WOW - I can't believe there is someone other than me who doesn't like all those grave markers as you enter Epcot. When Eisner put those in I'm sure it was just another way to get $$$. They block the pathways and eliminate some of the beautiful space the Epcot had in its original days.

Maybe that should be a poll question--does anyone actually like the "Tombstones?"
I don't know of anyone who likes them either.
