Main Street Electrical Parade returns.

Dont' know if anybody has seen this, but it shows how much work goes into moving a parade. It is also hinting to the fact that the parade is only in WDW for 10 weeks only. Finally, the video discusses the fireworks and ToT changes.

It is very interesting to note that they have to actually cut wires on the floats. I honestly thought that they would have had connectors or something to avoid cutting wires.

What a fabulous find Len! Thanks for sharing!!!! I have long wondered about how some of the floats work...I like behind the scenes stuff (though I long dreamed of being a parade performer...I like making people smile & laugh)

There's been a rumor floating around that the parade is returning to DLR in December...but I'm not sure if that's true or not.

I was watching Lou Mongello's video podcast about the MSEP last night. In it you can see all of the floats as they are getting ready. Behind him at the end is the main float with the name on it...

It still says "Disney's Electrical Parade"

I thought it would change back to "Main Street Electrical Parade" since it was going back to Main Street. Does anyone know if they will change the name back or are they keeping the updated name on it?

I would speculate that it will remain "Disney's Electrical Parade" since they aren't planning on keeping it there for very long. It would be nice if they used the "Main Street Electrical Parade" for the opening though...

From what I hear, it's been using the traditional music out in DLR so I am assuming it will be using it at WDW. I don't think Disney is going to spend the bucks to re-record the entire music, plus most people when they hear that the parade is coming back will probably be expecting to hear the music they remember from old.

I'm sure it will be the same sountrack as DLR. However, I do know that some enhancements came last year along with the addition/return of a few floats. I have not heard the soundtrack since the changes, so I'm not sure if the soundtrack will be the exact same as before. I don't know if it was just digital enhancements or if the music was actually changed a bit.

I could have sworn the last time this parade showed up at WDW to replace Spectromagic for the summer it did say "Walt Disney World" and "Main Street Electrical Parade". I had asked a CM friend back then, and he said when WDW shipped off their original MSEP years earlier the only float retained was the logo float, which they re-used the last time around. If that was true, and it's still around, it could be the Main Street Electrical Parade (plus, I have noticed that WDW has been billing it by that name in all the promos about its return...).

The only issue I say about this is that the pictures released today on the Disney Blog show the front float in front of Cinderella Castle bearing the "Disney's Electrical Parade". It should be interesting to hear reports from people on how Disney handles this.

Bad bit of photoshopping?!? Reminds me of the recent goof of British Airways when an internal newsletter showed an advert for a new boarding process and the boarding pass had the name of Osama Bin Laden on it. Some times corporations don't take a second look at what they're doing...
