usually we come to the resort quite late, so its first to the food court to eat, then the lobby for park maps and timetables and a leisurely stroll back to our room and then we plan what were going to do for the next days to come

That is EXACTLY what we do. Even on the odd trips where a room has not been available when we first get there, the bags get locked up, and we head off as fast as possible in the direction of MK. :mickey:
To do the improbable, we first have to dream the impossible.

Amy, getting to Tokyo Disneyland is a total dream of mine. But not for the stampede... ;-)

That was just the first thing that came to mind when I saw your post...of course the thought of a grown woman racing and screaming down Main Street made me smile too! I was fortunate enough to go to Tokyo about 7 years ago and was surprised that after waiting in such orderly lines to get into the parks, they ran  to their first destination - mostly Pooh I found out later (and with good reason!!)....Running in the states is such a no-no!

"Slow down, everyone. Slow down." But don't they realize that half the fun is the running and screaming?

check in at the resort then head straight to MK to see Cinderella's Castle - that is the beginning of the Magic for me.

Well, since we've never had the full WDW experience I can't say what we'd do first...

But whenever we do make our trek to WDW, I will let you guys know! ;)

Yep! Been going since I was 3! I have only been to WDW 3 times and none of which were the same, nor on property. Hubby grew up going to WDW, but they never stayed on property.

When we get to DL, we check into our hotel (if possible), then head to DL (get a w/c if needed for that particular trip - sometimes hubby can make it with just the cane) and we usually head to Buzz. If it's still really early, we'll go to Fantasyland before the mobs show up a little later.

I would imagine a WDW trip would start in a similar fashion.

Actually, they're a little different. there's a lot more to do around the resorts, so we usually use the first day to settle in then we try to make it for rope drop the next morning (hence the "running and screaming" comment).

That makes sense...I'd like to be there for the rope drop too. I guess it would also depend on what time we arrive at the hotel. After hours of flying (boy our arms are tired... *groan*), it might not be a bad idea to relax a bit first.
