My two favorite times to go to WDW are near the end of October and in the slow period between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Either one is tremendous.

We have attended 3 times now. The first 2 trips were the first week in December. Christmas had started and the crowds were non-existant. Our mos recent trip was last month during the Natonal Cherleading Competitions and New York and New Orleans spring break. Not such a good trip. Much longer lines.

I have gone in March, April, August, and September. September was, by far, the slowest time iwth most of the rides as "walk ons"...

You can find some great deals and by the time you factor in the rental car and taxes you will save if you use the Disney Magical Express (free) and on-site transportation (free) you will find you can almost break even with a value or moderate resort. Check it out.
We are going for our honeymoon in January of 2011!!! We are checking in on the 26th!!!

My DW already mentioned January, but I want to add that early November has always been very good for us too. The only thing to watch out for around that time is Jersey week. Avoid at all costs!

Jersey Week? What is that? We've found that the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas is a good time to go ~ the resorts are all decorated but the crowds are still small!

Jersey week is when the schools in New Jersey take a break for a week for some kind of teachers' in-service or something, and it's tradition at that time that all the families (at least is seems like every family in the State) goes to WDW. The crowds are horrendous, and it seems like so many of the people from there are not very polite. Maybe it's just a coincidence, but it seems like a higher percentage of people from there are loud and rude compared to folks from other places. That's not to knock all of them; we have met some very wonderful people from Jersey, but an awful lot of them just don't seem to be familiar with good manners. Don't know why that is.....

I don't want to offend any of the good ones from there who are fellow posters here, but I can't help but mention what I've observed. Sorry. :(

I think I put that on a thread elsewhere ~ the up-easterners seem to be a little more rude and loud, or they just seem that way. Not to stereotype, they're not all that way, but it seems like a lot of them can ruin the experience...just like the BTG, some of those kids are very nice but a lot of them aren't :(

We have been in February, October, May, November. I tend to prefer the fall to winter months as the crowds are low and it's not so hot. February was like a ghost town and we walked around in jeans and sweatshirts. That was a nice change from sweating as soon as you walk out the door. We really enjoy October for the MNSSHP and the comfortable evenings as others have mentioned. Basically, I think anything but the summer is a great time to go. We are considering going in December this year as we have never seen the Christmas decorations or the party. I'm thinking early in the month based on what I have read here.

The best low crowd times in my opinion are October, September, early November, early December and January. Also late April and early May can be lower times b/c its in between spring break and school letting out.

I enjoy October the best because the weather is still warm but not hot as hades.

We're Feb and August folks. I wish we could go in May, but it's a busy season for DH. Maybe someday when he retires...

Avoid summertime and most of the holiday times (unless you want to go to experience the magic of the place being decorated).

But if you go right before or after the holidays you can enjoy the decorations and avoid the crowds ;)

That is true! Hopefully if I ever get to do the Disney College Program, I will see them decorate the place in time for the holidays.
