Are you talking about the Electrical Parade Dreamlights? That is the newest parade of all the electrical parades, and features some very stunning floats, such as the chesire cat and the inchworm. I don't see them bringing that parade here - it's too popular there! However, some floats for Bug's Life were replaced so - why not bring those unused floats here and add them to the Disneyland Electrical Parade that will be shown at WDW?greendoor678 wrote:I wish they would bring some of the Japanese floats on a U.S. tour. The question is if the Oriental Land Company owns everything or does Disney has the right to tell them to do anything with what is there? Does that make sense?mindflipper wrote:Are you talking about the Electrical Parade Dreamlights? will the Electrical Parade still be there in November? I think I'll be there the first two weeks and hope to see it.

Re: Main Street Electrical Parade returns.
This is going to be an interesting question that will hopefully be answered within the coming months. As of right now it is scheduled to only run as part of the summer nightastic which should take it from June 6 - Aug. 14. Rumors out of DL state that the floats are on lease to WDW for approximately two years. It could possibly mean that MSEP will be around for that time period or just that they will be storing the floats in WDW as they figure things out with California Adventure and DL. The definitive answer should be known by the end of July as Summer Nightastic starts to wind down.downy288 wrote:will the Electrical Parade still be there in November? A great parade!
Re: Main Street Electrical Parade returns.
I'm willing to bet that the MSEP gets "held over by popular demand" for at least another year. With the Wonderful Colorful Show at DCA there's really no reason to send the floats back west.downy288 wrote:will the Electrical Parade still be there in November? No one's gloomy or complaining while the flatware's entertaining.

It's more like there's no room to send them back out west...with all the construction going on, it's no wonder.horizons1 wrote:I'm willing to bet that the MSEP gets "held over by popular demand" for at least another year. However, I did hear a rumor floating around that when it comes back west, it will head to DL and not DCA (even though it was promised that it would never run in DL again). We'll see. In the meantime, I hope you guys enjoy it in WDW! It's such a classic!

Maybe they will renovate some floats, add some new floats, and then retitle the whole thing like they did in Japan - could become "Disneyland's Main Street Electrical Parade Dreamlights". If not Dreamlights, something else. By tacking on that bit on the end, it's not the same parade - it's a different parade, so Disney in its own view has not gone back on its publically declared policy/statement about the MSEP never coming back to Disneyland's MK.MmeLeota wrote:However, I did hear a rumor floating around that when it comes back west, it will head to DL and not DCA (even though it was promised that it would never run in DL again). I had heard that ELP was more of a replacement for Spectro. I would really dislike having Spectro disappear from WDW forever!! I adore that parade. ELP is okay but Spectro if the best to me.MadEye wrote:But from what I hear, it is only for the summer months this year.
On a side note, Wishes will be replaced (also just for summer, from what I understand) with Magic, Music and Mayhem from the Pirate and Princess Parties.
I had not heard that about Wishes.
I've been trying to keep up through allearsnet.com and mouseforless.com but if you have a good source I would like to read it, too! ~ Phyllis

Do you have a link that shows what Dreamlights? I had never heard of that version of ELP beforemindflipper wrote:Are you talking about the Electrical Parade Dreamlights? Try mouseplanet.com, wdwparksgal. They put out weekly updates for both WDW and DLR. They also give info about which rides will be closed for refurb and when.

Re: Main Street Electrical Parade returns.
I have not heard the rumor that MSEP will be a replacement for Spectromagic. I have been hearing the rumor that it can last in WDW for up to 2 years while the finalize all the construction in DCA. Remember they supposedly don't really have a working parade route there. I do think that it will return west and probably end up in DL. The only issue I see is that they will have too many night time shows. Fantasmic, MSEP, and Fireworks.
I really hope that Spectro makes a return. It is my favorite parade and I adore the music to it. It is even my ringtone on my cell phone.

Re: Main Street Electrical Parade returns.
I saw this parade in April when I went to Tokyo Disneyland and it was awesome. When I got home I told my family that if WDW really wanted to do something right they could "borrow" from this parade. It was spectacular. The Cheshire Cat float is HUGE and PINK & PURPLE and he DISAPPEARS. Additionally, because they can't do the "salute to America" at the end of the parade they have a giant float that is the facade of Small World. Many of the Disney characters sit on this float and wave banners and streamers. Let me just say that the color in Tokyo was amazing.mindflipper wrote:Are you talking about the Electrical Parade Dreamlights? Mindflipper: Did they not like the MSEP in DCA? I've loved this parade since I was a child growing up in Miami and whenever we would go to the MK we would always stop for this parade. How can someone in California not love this parade. I'm curious.

Dont' know if anybody has seen this, but it shows how much work goes into moving a parade. It is also hinting to the fact that the parade is only in WDW for 10 weeks only. Finally, the video discusses the fireworks and ToT changes.

It is very interesting to note that they have to actually cut wires on the floats. I honestly thought that they would have had connectors or something to avoid cutting wires.
