I met the love of my life in High School. We were engaged last day of school and married 4 years later. Now24 years further on he is still the only man I would look at twice.

Do I get some sort of award for the shortest story.

It may be a short story Sleepy90, but it's a really sweet one! :)

I'm liking Amy's idea of an RSDW...a sweet treat for a sweet story!

Sleepy90 your story may have been short but not many can say that after all those years they are still married to the person they fell in love with in High School. I am sure you are both a very special couple. Thanks for sharing....

OK!! Y'all have me sitting here teary eyed like some sixteen year old girl watching a soap opera!! These stories could give a man a diabetic comma! They really are very sweet.

Here's mine:

I went through a very bad divorce. I mean really bad. I went for over a year and a half without the touch of a woman. I was to the point if I woman showed any interest, like saying hello I bolted. I mean I had it bad. I worked for a company that would let me work as much as I wanted. I burnt partners out about every six months. It was nothing for me to pull an 80 plus 5 day week. I finally got a partner (My Boss, retired Marine) who could deal with me. Rodger would let me call the schedule and cover all the miles I was putting on my car.

My main thing in life was being DAD, my son was the only human I let close. My only human contact was a 5 year old. I went for a year stretch where I worked, drove from Atalanta to Chattanooga, slept(Sometimes in rest areas), threw darts, and repeated the cycle. In a 14 day period I'd pick Jon up on Friday night, drive him back on Sunday, go to work, drive up to Chattanooga on Tuesday tutor Jon, drive up to Chattanooga on Thursday tutor Jon, Talk my ex into getting Jon on the off weekend and repeat. During Baseball season I was an assistant coach on his team and some weeks would be in Chattanooga may be 13 times in a 14 day period. I actually put 200K plus miles on a car in a year just between Atlanta and Chattanooga.

I finally decided to move to Chattanooga and transfer. The only problem is when I left the Atlanta office and moved to Chattanooga somebody else got my job. Oh well! I got a sales job. I didn't know anybody here and let's face "I was damaged goods". I went on-line to Match. com. Baloo and I started writing back and forth each other on match, and calling after maybe 2 months we were finally going to go on a date on a Friday. Our son's both played at the same little league park. The day before our first date my now DS had a game and I had a make up game with my DS. I had to call Baloo and explain that it wasn't a set up and we would be meeting at the ball park. She asked what I was driving and I told her a 1981 (This was 2000) Ford LTD POS (she had to ask her ex what model the POS was). Our first time meeting (I count it as our first date) I met Baloo, my now DS, her mother, best friend, and ex. Talk about NO pressure! I carved our initials in the tree we met in front of a couple of years later.

Since then Baloo has taken what was a "VERY" scared, afraid, damaged little boy in a man's body and has taught him that love and life can be beautiful! That when some tells you they love you it's just that and not it's going to lead to being hurt. She's taught me how to be a grown up, a friend, a father, a believer in GOD and Jesus, A WHOLE PERSON!

I found somebody I never knew since we are together, ME!!

PS I now am with the woman my Mother (Old Italian lady) told us the she would have chose for me. My brothers and sisters have also informed me if we break up, they're keeping Baloo!

Jacca, that was beautiful, man! Thanks for sharing.
I can see by your writing that it took a lot out of you emotionally to put that all down in print. Stirred up some painful feelings, but was no doubt cathartic too.
Baloo is obviously a very special lady. My heartfelt congratulations to you, Bro. :D

Baloo read what I wrote and made one comment, "You grown up?"
