Can't wait to hear your story MmeLeota. I think everyone on here is the same. We all have a little wild side but tame by standard of the world today.
I can't wait to tell it! :)
The funny part is, I'm really shy. Especially toward people I don't know...so I tend to keep to myself and sometimes I think that comes off as snobbish. But once I get to know someone, I'm fine. Even though I may not physically know anyone here, we all have gotten to know each other's personalities...and that's what counts! I don't like our society where everyone is judged so much on physical appearances and not seen for who they are...just what they look like. (sorry, I'm rambling on again)
Thank you so much, MmeLeota. And you have no reason to apologize for anything that I know of! You have always been one of the best as far as having fun, yet still being graceful and not crossing the line. I have tremendous respect for you.
You are so sweet! I am truly touched by your sentiment!

Mouseoholic, you've got yourself a keeper there! Don't ever let him go! :D

So would you be willing to tell us your love story?
I suppose I could.....

We first met on October 22, 1975, just after midnight. I don't really remember meeting at that point. I was very young. It's been an up and down relationship. She's broken my heart more than once. Tested my loyality several times. Yet I kept coming back. 1978 she tore my heart out. 1986 was going to be the last straw. But there was something about her that wouldn't let me leave. She would keep luring me back. I tried to keep my emotions in check and keep telling myself to stay cautious and that I was only setting myself up for more hurt. And finally after a rocky 2003 I told her this was it. I can't keep doing this to myself. I need something more, and if she couldn't give that to me after almost thirty years I had to leave. Then, in the fall of 2004, when it all looked it was coming to an end and that we were at the point of no return..... she came through. Big time. Like no one had ever come through before. My loyalty to her was rewarded and I haven't had a second thought since. All the heartache and rough years were worth it.

But seriously...... I met my second love (a real live girl and not a baseball team) shortly after the Sox won the series in 2004. She was making her way through law school and the bar exam. That wound up being a blessing in disguise. We really didn't have much time to "date" as she was studying. A lot! So we were able to take it slowly. And our friendship really developed. Which was important even though I didn't realize it at the time. Usually I spend the first part of any relationship like that trying to figure out if I'm attracted to that person. Here, we got to be friends and then the attraction grew. While she was studying for almost a year, I would be there to make a dinner or bring over some food to make sure she ate. It was really important that she pass the bar and I like to feel I was able to help out even if it was just by running an errand or making a meal. After about nine months (and the passing of the bar) we were able to do more things together and it just took off. We currently live together in house we bought in a Boston suburb. I also got lucky in that she had season tickets to my (and hers) first true love. The Red Sox.

Awesome love story kcarts. I was reading this at work and thinking to myself "this is so sad, he is brave for trying to stick this out and for so long =( 1974 - 2004 is a very very long time....".

I got to the second paragraph and laughed my head off. Everyone around me wanted to know what happened. I had to read them your story.

This is probably the ULTIMATE MAN LOVE STORY because it combines both love for wife and sports shared by both!

Congrats! You have to read this story to her. She will get a good laugh I am sure.

This has been fun reading everyone's stories. kcarts you really had me going in that first part! Love the pictures of the mouskecouple and boilercouple!
I am still waiting for my Prince Charming. Haven't given much thought to what I hope he will be like. Hopefully a guy with a sense of humor, kind, generous in thought and deed, strong sense of family...I would hope he would enjoy Disney music as much as I do as well...

Oh, yes! He definitely has to appreciate Disney or I won't let you date him, young lady!

I'll have my pixies call your fairy Godmother. We'll ship out some pixie dust for you to help in your search. :D

kcarts, that was a great story! You really had me going there for a bit ;)

Amy, just as the song says, someday your prince will come! I too will ship some pixie dust your way! :)

As for our story, Chernabog40 and I met while we were working at a theme park. We had seen each other from time to time, but he worked mostly days and I worked mostly nights and we didn't know each other. I was working a closing shift and "in charge" of the ride that night and he was working a mid shift. So because I was the extra person on staff at the time and there was this guy that I didn't know, so I went up and introduced myself to him. We seemed to hit it off right away and we both felt a connection...I knew that we would be friends for a long time. But if someone told me I was going to marry him, I never would have believed them. I will admit that we flirted with each other a whole lot...;) and when it was time for him to leave, he left, changed clothes and came back and hung around for a while. In the days following, I began to work more day shifts and so I saw him more and more...everytime he saw me, he'd wave and I'd pretend to not see him. I was worried that I flirted with him too much and now he thought I liked him! Oh great! Yeah he was cool and all, but I didn't like him in that way. Well, about a week and a half later we were working the same ride again and we were talking. He told me a bunch of people were going to see a movie that night and asked if I wanted to go. I said I'd find out what I was doing that night and I'd let him know. I had every intention of telling him no, but when I talked to him on the phone something made me say yes. So we met at the theatre and it turned out we were the only 2 to show up...hmmm...a bit of trickery here? ;) Anyway, 7 months later we got engaged and a year and a half later, we got married.

So, that's it...our story 8-)

Amy, maybe you need to follow MmeLeota's example and go work at Disney. =)

That is a great story MmeLeota. It seems that Love is always true when you are friends first. It is one of the glues to holding a marriage together.

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks guys! It's not the most romantic story (especially since I avoided him after we met), but we like to think back to those days sometimes. The camraderie (and drama) associated with working in a theme park environment is so different from any place else.

I hope hubby doesn't mind my telling the story :? (maybe it will spark him to tell his side of it, who knows?)

I agree that being friends first definitely is a HUGE plus in a marriage!

And it's a DISNEYLAND love story too! MmeLeota, how many times have you both celebrated your anniversary at Disneyland since you got married?

The park we worked at was a non-Disney park, which is why I did not specify a name of the park. (though the park was run by some ex-Disney folks and was maintained to Disney standards)

BUT....

We were both already huge Disney fans and our first trip together was to Disneyland. We honeymooned in WDW and have tried to keep Disney as a theme throughout our anniversaries, but it hasn't always worked.
