I honestly think they drew out the story too much in the second and third movies which really took you away from the movie... especially in the third one. The first one was truly amazing and something that I might make watching a yearly ritual. I am optimistic to the fourth film and I really don't think this will draw away from the film at all.

When they say budget cuts it just means it's going to cost 200 million instead of 300 million.

As long as budget cuts doesn't mean scenes that look like my boys toy boat being tossed around in a tub!

These are the budgets for all three of the films.
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl - $140 million
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest - $225 million
Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End - $300 million
So it wouldn't be much of a surprise if they use that much for the fourth one.

And yet, the best of the three had the lowest budget! Hmmmmmm, what could we learn from this?

CGI can't save your movie.

I think the skeleton pirates in the first one had the best CGI while the other two movies had almost an overkill.

If the movie features Jack and Barbossa prominently then= Epic Win.

I gather from what I had read on the net it's Jack vs. Barbossa vs. Blackbeard.

As long as it gets a decent script, I'm going to pass on it for now.
