Hey guys! Just checking in. The crowds thinned out a lot today! Tower of Terror was a walk on. I rode in the Lilly Belle and must have been channeling Lillian's spirit because I sat down on her love seat and I didn't even know it.
I met the famous Maynard at the Tiki Room last night. Oh boy, I haven't laughed that much at a tiki room show in FOREVER!
Definitely a hit in my book. Lots of birthday greetings from everyone. I got a birthday biegnet or however you spell it at Cafe Orleans yesterday. That was tasty! Churros are the perfect breakfast food. I'm busy keeping a list of A-1 CM's to send kudos too at the end of my trip. They've been sending pixie dust my way, so I feel like I should send a little back their way.
I think the only thing that's kind of sad is that once you strap that hunk of metal to my butt, I instantly become invisible. I've been run into, cut off, and given dirty looks when I try to move as if I'm somehow impeding every one else's progress. Heaven forbid I try to get to the cutout on Harbor Blvd to get across the street. It's almost as if they expect me to just drive right off the curb.
I'm trying so hard not to run into anyone, but when people do notice me, they make me feel like I shouldn't be there. Fortunately, the CM's have been soooooo good to me! They all talk and joke with me and treat me like I matter. It's very refreshing. I've even been called Princesss! Totally made my day.

Glad you are having an awesome trip, and a fantastic birthday - did you have your Bibbidi Boppidi Boutique day yet? As for getting through the crowds, just keep smiling and laying on your ECV horn

I am so glad to hear that the crowds thinned out for you! (and that you got some "birthday booty" (hey, it's NOS, I can't help it...))
Oh wow! You got to meet Maynard??? We have yet to find him. I heard that he had been recently seen at Tiki Room and you confirmed it! I'll be on the look out in July!
I'm not sure if he's still there, but check out the Carnation Cafe and see if Oscar still works there. He's a chef that has been working in the park since the '50s (I think)...a couple of years ago I got the chance to meet him and he was so friendly! He came up and shook my hand as if we had known each other for years!
Have fun for the rest of your trip! (and we want to see pics of you after your BBB makeover

Maynard rocks! I'm going on a Maynard hunt the rest of the week.
Oooh, Amy, I like how you think... may have to try that... Normally I'm too polite to lay on the horn...
You mean I'm a day older than you? Well and a few years.

Hi hockeygirl,
Glad you are having fun. I totally understand the whole cart issue. After a week at Disney with all of the walking I develop a physical condition that prevents me from walking too much in a day (long story). I have had to get a cart on several occasions and it is difficult. People are very rude. I have been on both end (getting hit/almost hitting...) and know what you are going through. You are right the cast members are so supportive and helpful. It makes up for what others are lacking in.
I have always wanted to try a Monte Cristo…someday…
Have fun. Sorry I missed this thread. Take lots of pics. We will keep you in our prayers. I am sure everything will go just fine.
Take care
