How about adding an indoor counter service on Hollywood, down by Teluca Legs, etc? Those are all outdoors, and in the summer it's just brutal. Don't know what that would do to the decor/theming/landscape, etc.

I don't know? The first time I went to "MGM" it was a four hour park. There was no ToT or R&R. I would bring back the Studio Tour, you know, when it was a real working studio and they actual had animators.

The hat. Move it or destroy it, I don't care. Just bring back the view of the Chinese Theater facade of The Great Movie Ride down Hollywood Boulevard.

I miss the studio tour as well. I was disappointed the last time we went and so much of the "tour" had been cut out...Jacca5660 wrote:I don't know? I have to agree with everybody so far. I really think the movies have to change. Finally, let's get rid of Mickey's nose (hat). He never told a lie!

They did update the movie at the end of TGMR once, but haven't in a while. I would like to see the whole ride change. Get rid of what's there now - we've all seen it over and over, and put something new in its place. Also, more rides based on movies/TV. Star Tours, Indiana Jones (I would like to see the Temple of the Forbidden Eye replace the stunt show), car stunt show, ToT all fit the bill - but Little Mermaid, Beauty & Beast, and Fantasmic to me seem like Fantasyland more than DHS. How about re-do Fantasmic to movies? How about the stage shows be themed more to movies? I would love to see that park get back to it main theme.

Not a fan of the hat, so that can go...I do miss the original studio tour too.
Another thing I miss is the Monster Sound Show...I loved it as is, but if they wanted to update it, give it a new movie. But keep the interactive amateur foley artist theme. (I got to do this and it was a blast! I was terrible at it, but it was fun!)
Granted, I do not know what currently sits in that spot. The last time we were there, the building was closed.

Sounds Dangerous with Drew Carey. Still used sound as the point of the attraction but it was all recorded and you put on headphones (that you have no clue who wore them before you I might add...) and it makes it seem like it's 3-D sound. It is open seasonally and for good reason.MmeLeota wrote:Granted, I do not know what currently sits in that spot. The last time we were there, the building was closed.

Ok...then my suggestion stands.MadEye wrote:Sounds Dangerous with Drew Carey. I do remember some sort of 3-D sound thing when you sit in a booth and it's dark, but I'm pretty sure that was outside of the Monster Sound Show and not the whole show. (It was back in the early '90s)
That's the post-show of Sounds Dangerous along with some other sound making stations. It is still open... I think.MmeLeota wrote:I do remember some sort of 3-D sound thing when you sit in a booth and it's dark, but I'm pretty sure that was outside of the Monster Sound Show and not the whole show. I'm probably the only one but I don't like the Great Movie Ride. It's old and the face characters look like they've melted! Not just the green witch in the Oz section but have you seen Sigourney Weaver in Aliens! You can't even recognize her anymore! Put in an updated ride...Disney clearly has a bank of current movies it could use...Pirates alone could fill a room!

Oops I forgot...the Backlot Studio Tour could use some serious remodeling. The house of the Golden Girls and Empty Nest??? Come on...again, I know Disney could refurb it with fresh and new studio sets. The water part at the beginning could be changed, too. I know several people like the backlot tour but it really needs help.
