Yes Mr. Len, sir...*hanging head*

(but I have tears in my eyes and my sides hurt from you 2 Mousekedude and Jacca... )

As far as Captain EO goes, I believe it's going to TOkyo and Paris as well, and will be running in DL til the fall (or something like that).

There are so many people out there saying how terrible it is that Disney is doing this and why can't they come up with something better and so forth...

Thing is...it's temporary! It's not like they're going to leave it there forever! They are capitalizing on the franchise (albeit a little late) for now. We have no clue what they are planning for the future. I'm sure whatever will eventually take the place of it will use the current technology to the furthest extent and blow us away! Until then, a new generation is getting to experience the King of Pop in his glory days and us "old folks" are getting to look back and reminisce how cool it was back then and roll our eyes to how cheesy it looks now.

I know it's not the best thing out there, but I'm glad they chosen to release it worldwide. Not everyone would be able to get to CA to see it and I'm sure there are several MJ fans itching to see it.

I honestly think that you might have hit the nail on the head with that. It seems like Disney knows right now Michael Jackson is more popular than he was when he was alive. It appears to be the final ability to use this show and try to capitalize on it. I just don't know if I like the idea of bringing it back in early July. It seems a bit late and probably would have been best to do it in conjunction with the one at DL.

Captain EO is much better than HISTA or as I like to call it, HISMP....

I never saw Captain EO when it was first out, so I'm looking forward to seeing it this trip out...

I agree... I'm actually looking forward to it. BUT, only if it is temporary. I wouldn't mind seeing a classic from my childhood again with hopes that something new and fresh will be following it.

I felt the same way NaCler...we saw it last month and will probably go see it again in July. (though not all of the original effects are there...it will be interesting to see if they are added back to WDW, TDL and Paris)

Len, I agree that they should have released them all together, but I think Disney wanted to see the initial reaction in CA first. Honestly, I think they waited too long anyhow...but we don't know the other side of the story either. Perhaps there were snags with getting the new technology to be compatible with the old and further delayed the original re-release in DL...I think DL was the guinea pig. If it wasn't successful, they wouldn't have gone ahead with the other parks. Since it was successful, they have to now reconfigure the other theatres to accomodate and unfortunately it takes time.

It would be really cool if they chose to re-release the show at rest of the parks on June 25th...the 1 year anniversary as a true tribute. IMHO

I hope they bring something equally decent. I liked HISTA back when I was in summer camp but now I'm glad it's gone.

Say it ain't so !
What in God's name are they thinking ????
That freak is (was) a drug abuser, and a child molester (unproven).
Also the show wasn't worth a dern to start off with (my oppion).
What a bunch of crude!
I won't be gonna see it. Nor any of my family or co-workers or their families (fact).

Frankly, I didn't miss it, so I don't feel strongly about them bringing it back. There are other attractions I'd definitely like to see more than Capt. Eo (like Horizons or America Sings or the Timekeeper or...).

I am glad it's temporary, though.

I'm with momeja. Not an attraction I'm thrilled to see coming back. If they're going to pull an old Imagination attraction out of storage I'd much rather (infinitely rather) see the original ride come back instead. <.<

I third that!!!

I don't care about Captain EO. Really. If MJ was alive, nope, wouldn't even be happening right now.

I'm still surprised at all the negative. I totally agree that we should not be stepping backwards. BUT I totally agree that HISTA is way past its time. Hopefully this step backwards will result in a hugh step forward with a new movie for Imagination. Fingers crossed, because we need a hit in that pavilion. This will definately help during the summer to draw people to this area.

Surprised? This is telling me that they have either run out of ideas to improve things or have gotten so lazy that the answer to improving an attraction is to bring back something from 15 years ago! Is this what they are paying the Imagineers to do? Come up with old ideas?

If they are going to bring back attractions from the late 80's and early 90's the least they can do is charge prices from that era.

If they have to bring something back how about Timekeeper? It seems that Disney is always trying to slip something in on the cheep.

I (IMHO) also feel that if MJ was still alive this would not be happening. It's as if the powers the be at Disney took a look at MJ's current record sales since his death and thought they could also cash in on it also. It's rather crass and very un-imaginative.

I just hope the have WED's body rapped tightly with copper wire so as he's spinning they can at least power the place!

Awwww geez, really??! I agree with Jacca, if you're going to bring something back can't it be an attraction like Timkeeper?! I think Disney can do better than this and I really hope this is temporary!?
