The last time I bugged him about it (the day after I went last Sunday), he yelled, "What, you're working for Disney now??". Guess I was getting on his nerves. But I *only* did it 'cos I'm being a good friend. As all you fellow Soarin' lovers out there will understand.

I know exactly what you mean. I've been bugging my best friend to go to DCA just to ride it. He's absolutely TERRIFIED of roller coasters and other thrill rides (like Tower of Terror), and he refuses to spend so much money to go there just for 1 ride. I know he has a valid point, but still... it's SOARIN'!!!

Re: SOARIN
We rode it for the first time two weeks ago. It was AWESOME! Anyone who plans on riding this, my suggestion is GET A FASTPASS!!!! We had to wait 1-3 hours to even be able to use our fast pass - the standby line was 70 minutes all the timewdw1090 wrote:Has anyone tried it? i have and it is the most amazing thing ever! went about 8 times!!!

So how did those lines compare to TT and Space? Just to get an idea of the crowds you had to deal with...lovesdisney44 wrote: We rode it for the first time two weeks ago. It was AWESOME! Re: SOARIN
Mission Space we still got a fast pass for, but the standby lines were about 30 minutes long. At some points, there was only a short wait. (There was always a long wait at Soarin, though).G2-4T wrote:So how did those lines compare to TT and Space? As far as Test Track, there was always a 50 minute standby time. We coudn't even get a fast pass for TT until like day 3 because the return window was always when we'd be back at the resort for a break.
Sounds like you have a trip in the works - right?

Re: SOARIN
You do know that you do not have to return during the time window, onlt after the start, right? For example, it could say to come back between 1:15 and 2:15, and you can come back at 4:30. They only enforce the start time, not the end time. There are many times in the park when you can get stuck on another ride or cannot make it back for your window. Disney has decided that the right thing to do customer service wise is just enforce the start time.lovesdisney44 wrote:We coudn't even get a fast pass for TT until like day 3 because the return window was always when we'd be back at the resort for a break.

Re: SOARIN
Yea, we did know that, (aren't these boards great for all kinds of info?!) but on this trip we happened to be going to a different park then Epcot later in the afternoon, so we always gave away our fast passes. It always made for a nice surprise for another family of 4!Club33Hopeful wrote:You do know that you do not have to return during the time window, onlt after the start, right? you know, the whole concept for the ride (seating and such) was developed using an old Erector set...

I love soarin! It has to be one of the best things to do in Epcot. I actually got to go into the soarin area about a month before the soft previews started
That was great!! The group of use got to talk to the creator of the ride, and we got to see them testing it and also got to go onto the maintence cat walk and look around from on top. All this was guided by the creator. We were not able to ride it that day because they didnt have the certificate to allow it, but if they had we would have been able to. The reason I was able to do this was because I was a cast member at the time, and was apart of a engineering class that Disney offered to use. but it was fun!!
