Changes
So there was a recent thread about wanting upgrades/changes made to the 4 existing WDW theme parks over building a 5th park. If you had an unlimted budget and creative talent support what would you do to improve/upgrade each of the 4 parks (MK/Epcot/DS/AK)? 8)

This is a nice little topic hmm what would I do...
MK- Not too much here, first off massive rehab to Stitch Great Escape, new script, complete redecoration of the area as well. New surprises on Peoplemover, especially through the tunnel areas of the ride. Addition of rotating seats at Timekeeper as well as a new film added to it (same general concept, just funnier) Lets see improve special effects at Space Mountain, Complete refurbishment of COP, effect add on's at Buzz. As for Fantasyland, new Villians water ride in former locale of Leagues, Winnie the Pooh massive refurb, show add on's to all other rides, except Small World. Also reopen Sky Buckets. Lets see add on Haunted Mansion Holiday, bring back Golden Horseshoe Revue, as to Adventureland, I would add an actual ride at Swiss Family Robinson treehouse, refurbs for both Tiki and Pirates (one of which will be happening soon) thats about all I can think of for now.

I think I like it better the way they do it now, changing just a couple of things each year. Every time I visit, there's always something new to see.
Here's another idea. Don't add another park in Florida. Build two or three parks in other parts of the country. They could build one in the northeast, and one or two in the midwest. I don't mean that they should build a whole vacation resort like they have in Florida, just stand-alone parks. They should not be replicas of the Florida or California parks, but a new theme. That way, those of us who live far away from WDW and DLR can get a taste of the Disney parks between our visits to those resorts. I know that when I visit WDW, it's for at least a week at a time, and quite expensive. I can't afford to go every year. However, if Disney had a park within a few hours drive from here, I would go often.
I doubt that Disney will take my suggestion. They would probably be concerned that if people could visit a Disney park close to their homes, they would be less likely to travel to Florida or California. They probably also still have a bad taste in their mouths from their experience in Virginia.
P.S. If they do build a 5th park at WDW, I'm in favor of Disney Sea.

Forget about adding a new gate, first do a major rehab of the existing 4.
The parks are in a very bad shape, and I am not comparing to Disneyland (since the rehabs it has undergone are for the 50th ann.) but I am comparing to Disneyland Paris, which is currently getting the last phases of a complete park-wide repainting and general refurbishing.
The Magic Kingdom is in the worst situation. It is deteriorating, and it didn't get a real new e-ticket ride for more than 10 years now!

I can only think of changes to EPCOT
Make space for "Horizons" and "World of Motion", but keep the new stuff as well.
Put "World of Imagination" and "World of Energy" back to the way it was, it was better the first time around.
Add new countries: Russia, Ireland
All in a Fantasy world...hey, wait, isnt that what WDW is supposed to be? hehe

In the early to mid 90s, Disney had plans to build an American History based theme park in Virginia called Disney's America. Disney purchased property and was ready to go. As I recall, the property was on or near a Civil War battleground. Local residents and historians fought it (NIMBY), and eventually Disney scrapped the project.nightwind23 wrote:What happened and when????rick2vick wrote:They probably also still have a bad taste in their mouths from their experience in Virginia.

Magic Kingdom
I agree it is time for a new major attraction at the Magic Kingdom. I hope they don't just keep cloning the rides from Disneyland and putting them in at Magic Kingdom in Orlando. They will though because that's Disney's MO.

I also agree
I have been talking to a good friend of mine and we both agree that Horizons and World of Motion should be restored. I know that these are pipe dreams, because Disney just put all the stuff they didn't recycle from those attractions into landfills.

Wouldn't it be cool?
I think it would be neat if they opened a theme park of retired attractions. It would include 20,000 Leagues under the Sea, Adventures through Inner Space, Horizons, World of Motion, Mission To Mars, Alien Encounter, a Skyway, a restored Journey into Imagination with Dreamfinder, and all of the Cirle-Vision and 3D movies that are no longer in any of the parks

Cool Post.
Ok here are my general recommendations:
Rich
PS: in case any one is interested there have been a lot of rumors of Disney opening parks in a few other countries

Ok here are my general recommendations:
- MK:
Autopia, Snow Whites Scary Adventures - um can we say update
Maybe add a Roger Rabbit ride to Toon Town
Holiday Version of the Haunted Mansion
AK:
Add the last land, mythical beasts, to make it a full day park
Wipe out the Hester-Chester carnival area - it’s just pathetic and Walt would have hated it
Epcot:
Add 2 more countries - don't care what they pick
Replace or completely rehab Wonders of life
Add something, anything to the exit of Spaceship Earth, and the top of the Imagination Pavilion.
Get those Sea Cabs running!
MGM:
Star Wars please update. At least the movie.
Get me the Indy Ride!
An E ticket based on Monsters would be cool too.
Rich

I know for a fact that the skyway will never be put back in WDW due to safty reasons, exp. kids throwing heavy objects out of the cars and umm people trying to jump out of the cars...unless they use cars with solid windows....wagnerdisney wrote:I would add another country to Epcot.
Give Splash, HM, and PotC Rehabs.
Put the Skyway back in.
At MGM I would actually create some more rides. Maybe an Indiana Jones ride.
Animal Kingdom would be the Beastly Kingdom.
Dan.

I would love to see the monorail project of all the parks being connected $$$$$$
a new and upgraded CoP, that is still one of my fav's at WDW
I am also up for atleast 10 countries to be added to World Showcase, this would complete the idea of it being a Worlds Fair type atmosphere
the whole innoventions area of Futureland in epcot to be updated and brought back to it roots of displaying new technologly like it once did, as a exp the walking robot from honda on display,a monsanto type display of new uses for plastics and metals, hybrid cars and how they work, hydrogen powered cars and how they work, the mars rovers. Innoventions was to be a display room for these type of new technologies not for "are you as strong as a ant ?" type junk
