I've heard the same thing... its all speculation at this point. It too early. I would plan for late spring, but even then its a shot in the dark.

I had the same problem last year planning our recent trip (April '05) with regard to the opening of Soarin'. For the longest time the only projection I could find was Spring '05. We went ahead and planned the trip only to later learn that the official opening was to be the week after our visit. I'm happy to say that Soarin' was running the day we were at EPCOT. Even when they give a date, you can't always count on it. Look at how many times they delayed the opening of Test Track.

they usually start doing soft openings a few weeks before the actual opening date.

My guess for opening would be in mid-May. Soft openings starting in mid-April. Of course, this is just a shot in the dark... We should find out sometime in the next few months.

I've heard a *rumored* soft opening as early as Christmas 2005.

Crhistmas, really. Wow! If that's true, that would be awesome. My guess is the lines are going to be huge. Could you imagine a new ride oepning on the busiest day of the year. My guess 2 hours with fast pass.
