Alright, it's 11 days away, April 20th, it's been marked on the calendar - the first Phillies/Braves game this year. I would say may the best team win but since we know that's the Phillies I'll say let's keep it close :)

Hey Amy! IMHO if you are going to follow 2 teams, pick one National League and one American League...this way it's rare that they ever play each other.

In my case, I am a HUGE Angels fan! They are my (American League) team...on the other hand, hubby grew up in Chicago and was always a Cubs (National League) fan. So I will root for them too....but my heart belongs to my Angels...

Go figure, this year during inter-league play, the Angels are playing the Cubs in Chicago...too bad we can't get there for it! :(

Trust me, I know...

That's the first rule in being a Cubs fan! (glad DH doesn't check the boards...)

It's ok though...he's a 99.2% converted Angels fan....there will always be a place for the Cubs with him....

Madame, tell your DH not to lose faith. The Cubs will win and when they do he probably wont know what to do with himself. Especially with all the heartbreak he has gone through (Leon Durham in '84, Bartman in '03). Being a Red Sox fan I have some experience in waiting a while for title and living through some gut wrenching loses. When they finally won it was unreal. My dad and I celebrated with some 22 year old cold duck. It had been sitting in a cabinet at my parents home since October 1986. When the ball rolled through Buckner's legs.

I went to college north of Chicago, so I got to see my share of Cubs games. They always seem to be having a rough time though ~ and I am certainly not a rabid enough sports fan to watch 2 different leagues play! That would have been awesome if you and your DH could get to see the Angels vs. Cubs though..you would have to dress weird, half in Angels attire and half Cubbies

Thanks Jacca for the reminder. It was a horrendous day today in NY sports. The Rangers lost their bid for the playoffs in a shootout loss to the Flyers. I honestly have nothing to look forward to now until Football season in September.

It's really bad. The pitching is weak, the hitting is just not there. AND ALREADY the manager is saying that they just weren't prepared for everything in Sunday afternoon's loss.

The fan base has been let down in tremendous fashion in 2007 and 2008 with final game losses to miss out on the playoffs. This is all followed by the horrendous 2009 season. The team was terrible from June on. The Mets need to make drastic changes NOW if they want to salvage some of their fans. Otherwise CitiField will be a ghost town by Mid May.

Len one thing you do have to remember, it's a very long season and stuff happens. Even the best teams go though slumps and injuries. With the way teams are. This year every team in one or two injuries from disaster!! Don't give up!! I was around for the 69 miracle!! You know the year the Mets lost last place.

I'm also a Hugh RANGER FAN!! I could be the only guy in Chattanooga with a Rangers hat! I feel you pain on that one!! Against the Flyers!! It's one of my reoccurring night mares!!
