Favorite Float - MSEP

Post by missynole » Apr Sun 04, 2010 9:10 am

For those that remember it, and in honor of WDW bringing it back for the summer, do you have a favorite float from Main Street Electrical Parade? Mine was King Leonidas from Bedknobs and Broomsticks playing the Caliope and also Dumbo's Circus. :minnie:

I could use a reminder, what were some of the other floats?
I remember the last one, a salute to Liberty, but maybe you could list a few.

I worked the parade in '99 and am having a hard time remembering all the floats! :?

I was always partial to Elliott. Go Pete and his dragon!

I vaguely remember this parade, I remember liking it, but I don't remember the floats, sadly.

I have two favorites. I love the ballroom dancers under the tent, and then at the end the dancers in US themed costumes. But then again, Pete's Dragon is fun to see.

Oh, and "Welcome Home."

It also depends upon which version, too. Not all were identical. Tokyo's had the swans and IASW. DLR's version had Snow White mine and Hook's ship with Peter Pan, while WDW's version had neither. And there have float's that briefly existed for special short-term reasons, like DL's anniversary or Tokyo's floats for the Return to Oz. I don't know if there any vids on YouTube for those, but possibly you could find the ones for Hercules Victory Parade, when the MSEP went down the streets of NYC. I loved the Hades Float, which had fire spewing from his head while Pain and Panic danced in the palms of his hands.

One of my favorites - is from the current TDLEDP Dreamlights. It's the giant Chesire Cat that Alice rides on back.

All I remember is the snow white float.

I have some from our last trip to Cali - I'll try to get them transferred over to photobucket and post a few after work.

Here are a few, we had VIP seating for this parade so we were nice and close, all without staking out a space for hours! :D

Well, the last thing I heard is that it's slated to be in Florida for 2 years, so hopefully you'll get the chance to see it! :D

I love this parade and hope anyone who hasn't seen it will get to in WDW!
