I think they have actually made them slower. I remember as kid, it would really jar you around when you slammed into the car in front of you. Now it is just like a little bump. I don't know, maybe its because I am older and my memory is messed up.ltbeach wrote:The last time I rode TS it wasnt much fun. Seems like they should find a way to make it faster!!!

They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.

They actually changed the bumpers on the cars in recent years. You are correct in them giving a better jolt in years past. The old bumpers were just metal while the newer ones are metal with shock absorbers. The bumpers now push in upon contact. I found that in order to give my brother a jolt I had to strike him on an angle.agingerbugg wrote:I think they have actually made them slower. I am with horizons1! When I read this I pictured something of a more serious nature and actually thought they intended to say "Accident at Richard Petty Driving Experience". This is more believable. We have never been to the Tomorrowland Speedway. My DH does not think it worth our time....In reality it is the exhaust fumes. He is allergic and cannot handle the fumes. On that subject, don't you think Disney could go green here!!!! I mean really the exhaust from the Speedway has to be impacting the environment and the workers who breathe the fumes from those little cars day in/out!horizons1 wrote:I hope the cast member is ok and don't wish anyone harm, but I have to admit I chuckled when I read the headline "Accident at Tomorrowland Speedway", imagining a five car slow speed pileup. Now I feel guilty.
Seriously though I am sorry to hear someone was injured.

I have tried jumping the track with the side to side slamming of the rail. So far very unsuccessful. Had to be either an issue with your car or you hit the track just perfectly.cccmouse wrote:I didn't think that the speedway cars had enough power to jump anything!!WDWGolfer wrote:i was on the final turn by toontown on the outside lane (cloest to the fence) my car jumped the track and i drove it straight into the bushes to stop it.
