Wow!!! What a dramatic ending to what sounded like a fabulous trip!!!! I am very grateful that you guys weren't hurt in the car accident! How scary!

Great report, guys! Your trip was certainly eventful; you even got to have an experience with our wonderful rock-stupid Florida motorists! I agree with Len about the steak at Le Cellier; their New York Strip was one of the best steaks I've ever had in my life!

I'm glad y'all had a good time, despite the mishaps.

Len, to answer your questions: we didn't really need a rental car for the whole trip because Disney's in-house transportation was adequate for almost everything we wanted to do. Besides, riding the buses, monorail, ferry boats, etc. is all part of the experience for us. We really had no use for a rental car except for the day Amber and her folks went off property. We did decide to use the limo service for airport-to-resort and back simply for the time savings, and we got a really sweet deal on it. We had booked a pretty tight schedule and didn't want the delays that come with using Magical Express. Yes, her parents did use the Magical Express, which just happened to be using a cruise line bus the day they left the resort.

Understandable about not needing the rental car for the entire length of stay. We only use the car to really go off property for a day or two. The only other use for the car, besides airport, is to and from DTD. We love using WDW Transport for all the theme parks and sometimes the DTD, but after doing all your shopping, it can be a bit of a pain to carry everything on and off of the bus. I did notice you both were running on a VERY tough schedule. I actually think I would have been exhausted after three or four days. And to think you both did a resort transfer as well. That is extremely challenging to have to unpack, pack, unpack, and pack again.

I don't blame the Mouskecouple for taking the Limo to the airport - if you got to do something as sad and heart-wrenching as leave WDW to go back home, then get some enjoyment out of it by doing it in style!

I agree about the Kansas City at Le Cellier. I looked up "steak" in a dictionary, and they had a picture of it.

I can see your point about the shopping, especially stuff you don't want to have sent to your resort. Although we had most stuff sent back for us, there were still a few things we wanted to hand carry.
Yeah, the resort transfer was a challenge, but my DW is an awesome planner. She had organized our luggage so that everything we needed for the first couple of days at the first resort was all in one suitcase and a carry-on. We didn't even have to unpack anything else until after the transfer. Smart woman. Every guy should have one like her. Of course, I know Boilerdude already does....

Exactly! Every previous trip we used the Magical Express, but this time since it was a really special occasion (our 10-year anniversary), we were going all out. And we wanted speed, comfort, and peace-and-quiet for our to-and-from the airport rides. It was worth it!

You truly rank above all men in your plans for your wife - the book, the rose petals, dinner reservations - she is truly lucky! I probably would have been very upset too if I had to wait for the rest of the gang at CP plus standing in line at Pecos Bill's and only to end up getting yelled at but at least you made up in the end. You both had a wonderful trip and so glad you got to visit St. Augustine (only time I've been there was back in 1994. My hubby had a sudden heart attack in our hotel room in Kissimmee before our trip to WDW and passed away. We ended up shipping his body up to WV where his family's private cemetary was and me & our 5 kids ended up on a Greyhound bus and one of our first stops was in St. Augustine. I remember the kids commenting how their dad would have loved to visit there and how peaceful it looked.)

to give him some hints!! I have also recommended his thread to others needing ideas. Though the stuff in here would be hard to live up to

Mousekedude and Mouseoholic...I just have to say that I read this for the second time (reading it to my wife for her first time) and it lost non of it's charm and romance one bit. It brought tears to my eyes again! My DW thought it was absolutely wonderful and says that you are one lucky woman Mousaholic. Thank you for sharing your love.

Thank you so much. Your comment made me look back through it again, and doing so brings it all back alive for me; and makes me realize that this story really is a good window into the soul of our relationship. To have others appreciate and be moved by our experiences really makes my own heart swell with love all over again. Funny thing about love: it really is contagious when expressed.
