MadEye: if you think getting the rides confused between Disney parks is bad, I love the people who are looking attractions that aren't even in a Disney theme-park! One time in the Living Seas a woman wanted to know where the "Shamu show" was located there, and there are other times I've heard people trying to locate Terminator 3D, Back to the Future, and Jurassic Park (all located at Universal Studios). How bad is that when you can't tell Sea World and US Orlando from WDW?!? :mickey:

Oh, yes. I've been asked where the "subway ride" was. I immediately thought of Earthquake at Universal. They said no, it was at Disney. I kindly informed them that there was never a ride based off a subway ever at any Disney park anywhere. I've also been asked where Spider-Man, Shrek, Cat in the Hat, Mummy and Jaws were, just to name a few.

My all time favorite though, was being asked where the Monorail is at Studios. One guy even insisted that he arrived at the park (D-MGM at the time) on the Monorail. I told him the Monorail only went to MK, Epcot, Poly, Grand Floridian and Contemporary since 1982. He didn't believe me and still insisted he came on the Monorail. I had to lie to him to so he would let me get back to work (my break was over in 3 minutes) so I told him they demolished it after he arrived and he believed me.

Mutual weirdness and call it Love.”

Just because I wore a WDW t-shirt to the park one time, I had people asking me questions like I was a CM (hence, I have never worn a WDW-themed shirt ever again). I did have a person who stopped for directions to a ride I knew was at Universal Studios. I told him that, and he got rude with me telling me he was right and the ride was located at the Magic Kingdom. Just to get rid of him, I gave directions to the other side of the park. Hey, I didn't work there so don't get rude with me! :mickey:

Of course, they flag me down (the one dressed in a full suit, fedora and spats) and not the 15 CMs in red with nametags. I told them it was at Animal Kingdom. They looked at me like I had 2 heads and 3 extra appendages. They had no clue that they were in D-MGM Studios (back then it was still MGM) and that they were looking at an Animal Kingdom map. I tried telling them in the nicest way I could (GMR Gangsters don't have to be all Disney happy) that they were in the wrong park. What fun being a Gangster was!!!
I had no idea you were a GMR gangster. That must have been a really cool job.

My favorite all time quote was somebody mocking the "Happiest Place on Earth" by saying "Walt Disney World, the most expensive place on Earth. You are finally happy when you are broke." I just snickered and walked the other way. Obviously that person was not figuring out the way to have true fun in Disney.

When I was a CM one of my friends worked part time as a ticket taker at Universal and she would rail on at length about the people who would show up with their parkhoppers and demand to be let in. It was a daily occurrence, according to her anyway.

My mom and I once got into a minor argument with a couple coming over to the MK on the Epcot monorail. We could not convince them that the Epcot monorail did not go all they way to the MK - that they'd have to transfer to the MK monorail. When we got off we wished them a nice trip back to Epcot. The monorail announcement even tells you to get off and they chose to ignore it!

Not to mention the guests who also had Universal tickets and would try to use those to get fastpasses...

I'd have to say the funniest thing I've heard in WDW was my own DW when she was upset with me, screeching "leave me alone, I just need some ME time!!!"
...while she was standing in a large crowd
.... right next to a very loud parade
... on Main Street in MK.

Not funny at the time, but hilarious in retrospect. If you've read about the "big meltdown" in our last trip report, you know what I'm talking about.

A tale of two perspectives:

On a trip with my in-laws, after seeing Illuminations: Reflections of Earth on our first night in Disney, my father-in-law turned to me and said "This alone was worth the trip."

A few days (and a whole lot of bucks) later, after seeing Fantasmic, I turned to my mother-in-law and asked "Can you believe you get all this with the price of admission?" Her reply was, with what they charge, you should get a whole lot more.

Interesting...

My family's favorite overheard quotes- top 3 countdown style:

#3 (okay this was at UO  ) My dad and I stopped to use the men's room over by at the time Back to the Future and a man weighing approximately 350 lbs wearing the most brighthly colored outfit I've seen on a man who is not a contestant on Ru Paul's Drag Race with a giant straw hat and my fave a giant soda on a necklace with a straw directly to his mouth so he didn't even have to hold his massive drink walks in and loudly shouts "IN DA HOOOOOOOOUSE!" as though a) your entrance into a public bathroom should be announced and b) that he needed it to get attention.

#2 My friend and I were standing in line at the food court in the Land Pavilion to get drinks and there was a father who walked up to a counter in front of us and his nine-ish year old son screams at him "DAD!!!! COME HERE!!!! DON'T YOU KNOW HOW TO READ A MENU?!?!?!?" to which the dad turned to him then back to the cashier and said "Can I have a beer please?"

and #1 When Winnie the Pooh first opened (this was summer time so the park was pretty crowded too) and the line was like 2 hours we see a dad wearing just a white men's undershirt drenched in sweat, weighed down with cameras and backpacks etc. looking so downtrodden coming down the exit ramp being led by the hand by his 7-ish year old daughter dressed in a Minnie Mouse outfit, skipping as she goes SOOOO happy. She says "Wasn't that great dad?" and his response was the most sarcastic "BEAUTIFUL....ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL." It was PRICELESS. Anytime someone asks if something is great etc. and it's really not my dad and I to this day, years and years later still answer in unison - BEAUTIFUL! ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!

The most astonishing quote I ever heard came from a kid who was no more than 10 years old: "I want to go home!"

Working at Disneyland, we started a book of guest quotes. I wish I had a copy of it as now I really can't remember any of them. One comes to mind though. Working Space we would ask how many in your group. "Two" they would reply. So, we'd put two into row six then the next group starting at row one which quickly they would reply, "But we're all together!" and I would retort, "So how many are in your group?" and shamefully they would reply, "6" (or something greater than 2). I always found that so funny. It's like the Guests thought they were smarter than us when it came to loading a rocket while keeping groups intact.

I had a kid in front of me once ask where Kraken was. He kept looking at the map desperately trying to find it. Unfortunately for him, Kraken is at Sea World...
