It would be a shame to overhaul SE into a roller coaster. I know Disney has stiff competition, in IOA, but to convert most existing rides into rollercoasters and extreme thrill rides is, in my opinion a mistake.

Don't get me wrong I love Test Track, Rock N Roll Coaster, and Mission Space. But I also love the slow tame ride thru SE, Peter Pan's Flight, and Journey Into Imagination as well. Its good to have contrasting styles of attractions.

Part of the charm and appeal of Disney is its unique rides. If all i wanted was roller coasters I can go to Great Adventure, or Busch Gardens

I think a rehab of the concept they have now would be sweet. Update some of the fiber optic effects and get some darn padding in those cars!

yea the seats could use a bit of padding and the ride does breakdown alot the ride is really old and tired. but to answer the question, no i never felt like i was falling while going up. the ride is nice after walking around the whole back you can relax before geting on the monorail/ :)

It scared me the first time because I didn't know what to expect, but now I like it...just like Haunted Mansion.

I love this ride. However I was bitten by some kind of bug in here. I was video tapeing at the time, so I will allways remember that special moment. The medical aid station sold me some benadryl, i got drowzy, and could not stay awake for the fire work show.

I too miss the music and Walter Cronkite's narration, but the more recent music and Jeremy Irons' narration are nice too.

When you leave earth, and are viewing it from space, at the top of the ride...what planet are you supposed to be on? Or is it a view from the moon.

Thats just something I never thought of, until I was on the ride last wekk.

I want to say just from outer space, the moon at the most. Any other planet and we'd be just a dot in the sky just like they are to us...

I love SpaceShip Earth, and would hate to see it changed. I agree with what you are all saying. No roller coasters. Disney himself wanted his parks to be unique, different. I can't stand roller coaster parks.

I think they do need something at the end. It's just missing something. It seems very blasse when you get off this entertaining and educational ride and just find a bunch of boring stuff now. I would think since it has to do with communication and history, why not have something like that at the end. I mean, like you all said, a gift shop selling communication or historical like stuff.

When did you last visit? They used to have a massive AT&T section with all sorts of games and things to do (it was actually pretty cool). But it had to be taken out because of the big AT&T merger. Now it's just an empty room, but I imagine something else will be going in eventually.

Yeah, I was there when they had a bunch of AT&T stuff was at the end. Was that with the purple floor tiles and stuff?

Yeah. The see-through tiles with the marbles down below. :) It's all gone, now, but like I said, I'm sure there'll be something that eventually takes its place. Heck, I'm surprised there's no souvenier shop down there, already. :)

Was there on June 16 2005, and when the ride was over, you stepped off and walked out of the globe building. I didnt see anything about AT&T. Maybe I saw some temporary walls blocking something on the way out...but I wasnt really paying attention at the time.

And I want to raise my hand on a vote for padding on the backward part. I wear a big hair clip and it was digging into my skull when coasting backward, until I had to take it out. I totally forgot that parth happens.

Dont AT&T sponser it anymore because i used to love the message at the
end of the ride "Thankyou for riding spaceship earth, AT&T are dedicated etc"

Cant find it anyware, The ridethrough on this site has a different ending

AT&T was part of a massive merger, and is no longer AT&T, hence the reason the lower portion of the ride is now shut down as well. :)
