See I was thinking of the wrong thing in another post. Ice Station cool is the place I was thinking of. It's a pretty sweet little place, and a great stoping place on the hot days. The building is soooo nice and cold.

I'll be honest, I am not a big fan of most of the drinks there. But I seem to always stop in. Like I said I guess it's because it so nice and cold in there, and the gift shop is pretty cool... no pun intended.

yeah, the Ice Station was nice as you walked through the "queue" area as it was nice and cold on hot days. I agree with Gizmata that it was out of place. I think something like this belongs somewhere in World Showcase (as the drinks are international). Maybe somewhere near the International Gateway...

in any case, I feel sorry for the employees/castmembers who had to stand outside in those arctic jackets on the hot days. I think that'd be as bad if not worse than one of the costumed CMs..

They closed it!
Well, it was good while it lasted. It was great on those hot, humid days. I'll miss the VegitaBeta (Japan). It was pretty good.

NOOOOOO!!! My brother and I were just having a conversation about it. We're going in July with my family and we said that was one of our favorite things in Epcot. Although we are huge Disney fans, it was so nice to be in someplace that cold in the humidity of the summer.

At least it sounds like they are keeping the Coke-around-the-world theme for the new one. While some weren't great some were pretty good and a nice break from the usual. I imagine the ice portion of the station got to be a bit labor intensive after all this time in service. Maybe they will find a cure for that eternally sticky floor as well!

That's true! It did get very sticky around there! And I was always amazed at how they kept the ice going in the FL heat.

You know what use to trip me out. The frozen caveman holding the drink. A lot of people never saw it when they entered the building, they just walked right past it since it was so cold in that hallway. But when they did see it was usually had an interesting reaction.

Yeah, that caveman was a little creepy. I always knew where it was, but it would still slightly catch me by surprise. I wish I did have a picture of him.

Wow, Ive been there about five times, and I cant seem to recal seeing this Ice Station at all? What years are we talking about? And where was it located?

Maybe I can try to dig up a memory from the bowels of my brain, maybe I saw it when I was 7. But as of now, Im sorry I never noticed it.

It's not that old... a couple of years, maybe? And most people don't give it a second glance because it looks like a tiny little shack. People don't realize that it goes all the way back and into the building.

Couple of years...

I went in 1985, 1989, 1992, 1996, and 2005

Maybe I just missed the times it was there

I'm fairly certain it was put up after 1996, but it was still there when you came last week. Did you see it then (even if it was roped off)?
