It's been announced on the Disney Blogs - how could podcast have any more insider knowledge than that? :?

How very exciting. I normally avoid WDW in the summer but I will be there for both the parade and fireworks. MSEP holds such a special spot in my heart.

MSEP is a classic - it started them all: Spectromagic, Fantillusion and TDL EP Dreamlights. I just wish they would update Spectromagic - since they dumped Bug's Life out of EP Dreamlights, why not move it over here and add that to Spectromagic? Spectro seems shorter than EP Dreamlights and Fantillusion.

Hmmm...fireworks in WDW that involve Mayhem??? Sounds like a perfect meeting place for the Mayhem Marauders!!!!

I'm still waiting to hear what will be the "draw" for DL this year. They tried "Summer Nightastic" last year with the "Magical" fireworks, MSEP w/the enhancements and the "never-unveiled-during-the-summer" dragon "Murphy" for Fantasmic!.....(though I must say, the technology behind the dragon is amazing and really adds to that small part of the show).

You'd be surprised. Mr. Mongello and his team (my DW included) are crazy.

Honestly, either works for me. I love the intermix of the POTC soundtrack in with the MMM fireworks show, but can't see them dropping Wishes entirely, and would hope not; always brings a tear to Min's eye!

I guess that shows dreams really do come true. I haven't seen the Electrical Parade for a few years, so this summer will be a real treat. I guess I'll be at MK more than usual.

Don't get me wrong, I do love Spectro, but there's just something so special and endearing about the baroque hoedown. The idea of Tinker Bell replacing the Blue Fairy isn't so hot to me though.

I've seen the Pirates and Princess Party fireworks, and although it's got a totally different theme than Wishes!, it's really fun and goes with the spirit of Summer Nightastic!

But then again, DCA is getting their World of Color, which looks amazing from all the promotional material. Can't win 'em all I guess.

Never said the Blue Fairy was gone - it could be somewhere else in the line-up (maybe before the Pinocchio float - it would go well there).

World of Color is the #1 thing on our to-do list for this summer, for sure! (I heard that the start date has been pushed back to May now so it makes me wonder if Disney is trying to make it more of a "summer" debut) But I am hoping there will be a new fireworks show...though perhaps they think WoC will be enough of a draw for people.

I am so happy that so many people who have never experienced the original MSEP will get to this summer at WDW!!!!

Right. I meant I didn't like the idea of Tinker Bell leading the parade. I'm just used to the Blue Fairy. Hopefully she's still there.

I heard the updated soundtrack to the MSEP that played in Disneyland recently. What is everyone's thoughts?

It is being reported on various blogs and so forth from attendees to yesterday's WDW media event.....The new Magic Kingdom fireworks show will NOT be MMM.

It will be all NEW!

I can't wait till there's an exact date! I'll be there opening night!

The girl from our local "meetup" group is hoping to get a event for that night.

I'll have to make sure I have money put away to renew my annual pass, it'll be up around that same time.

I think it would be really neat to see MSEP, but the chances of us being there this summer are slim to none. :( If anyone experiences it, please let me know how it was!

Oddly enough, they say it returns this summer, but nothing says its run is exclusively limited to the summer. Disney did leave themselves that out in case they wish to extend it. If they're making changes to Spectromagic (no way to know), then how long the MSEP will run depends on how long that project would take.
