Mostly I placed it there because I have a tiny windshild and it's distracting as hell to drive with it, also because our campus has a rash of people getting their cars broken into to get their permits stolen and that's the cheapest window for me to replace if/when my car gets burgled.

I love the fact that you figured it would be a lot cheaper to fix that window than any other great Idea

in New York State, our car registration and inspection stickers are in the front windsheild above the VIN. State law says we have to have those there and no where else.

The ticketer was probably anxious to give a ticket. The fact that you have the permit and if you can proove when you purchased the permit should get you out of having to pay.

Yeah, that was my reasoning too. I enclosed a copy of the (paid in full, thanks) reciept for the permit, the picture I posted here, a copy of the ticket...blahblahblah. Irrefutable proof.

Results of the appeal will be mailed to me, let's hope it all goes well

No one organization comes as close to being as evil as the City of Los Angeles Parking Violations Bureau. They are sinister.

Oh! duh, I should post the conclusion.

I got the results two days AFTER my last final, which sucked because in the parking regulations it says if you haven't paid your fees/tickets by the end of the semester you recieved them in, they won't issue you a new permit for the next semester. Essentially, they can say "HA HA! We own you!"

Anyway, I got the letter and the only comments written on it were "Place your parking decal in a designated zone in the future" and that it was dismissed. Confused, I read through the parking regulations book and it doesn't clarify what a "designated zone" is. Go figure.

For the "too long, didn't read" crowd: I didn't get the ticket after all.

Great to here Do you think you'll get a new pass next sem.?

you should see if they have a electronic version of the rules I would lve to see them along with other I bet. It would be cool to have hundreds read them and see if they really state anything about the "spot" (not saying I don't trust you   )

They'll definately give me a new permit for next semester because I have no outstanding fees.

I'll have to fish around and see if they have any current versions of the parking permit regulations online, the last I checked it was an outdated version.

Eagle--Since you're fairly close to where I'm at, we're talking about Chaffey college's parking "enforcement".

Guess who got another smurfing parking ticket!

For the same smurfing thing :x OH, we are a very angry Shinku.

This semester's decal is the same color as the one that I got a year ago. I wonder if the officers just can't see it because of the color? This time it was located passenger side, windshield, upper corner.

This has just not been a good day.

last year we had nice heavy duty plastic parking pass' that hung on the rearview mirror. This year we have semi-heavy cardstock paper hangers they say to save money (I can now print as many as I want )

Just send the same info as you did that year (see if they notice)

Stupid po po. Give em' heck shinku. I just read the this posting and I had a similar experience at Penn State. Just complain that it is the same problem. And take pictures of the car too, that way they can see what you are telling them.

I don't even bother bring a car to Uni. The old city really wasn't well designed for cars. We all use bikes to get around! :P
Its still quite a novelty at the moment as I'm in my first year and hadn't ridden a bike for about 5 years before I came. Its not so good when its raining though, i'm not very skilled at cycling while holding an umberella yet!

UPDATE:

My results came back for the appeal, I lost. To summarize, they said that I cannot contest the same violation and win both times. I don't even think they looked at my appeal or the photos I included, or the reciept that shows I bought the freaking pass. Whatever. It's only $25 so that's not bad, but it still sucks majorly that I have to pay for it.
