McDonalds's in Downtown Disney Closing

The title says it all. The McDonald's in Downtown Diseny will be closing on April 30. A Pollo Campero is set to takeover the location. Pollo Campero is a Latin-based chicken fast food chain. This comes as the 10 year exclusive deal between McDonald's and WDW comes to an end. The location on the property near Animal Kingdom is not affected by this and will remain open.

You're kidding?! Now the only place you can get McDonald's fries is in Animal Kingdom?! That's a bummer.

McDonald's fries and a Coke taste amazing in WDW. I remember eating them in Fantasyland, those were the best fries and Coke I had ever had. The replacement fries they have just don't cut it.

Finally! Somebody who liked the McD Fries besides me! I got raked over the coals for saying that in another thread about snacks. I loved having those fries as a snack in MK!

I am shocked! And never heard of the other place. We had never visited the McDonalds there but I always thought it was a smart business move for them to have the location.

Yes McD's contract ran out. Pollo Campero has pretty good food. I for one love that McD's is going away!!! Now if they would just get it out of the parks!!

I gotta say, i love all the options we have in the parks, but believe it or not the best McD fries ive ever had where in epcot.

Holy cow! There is a Pollo restaurant that just opened near our bowling alley. My friend and I were curious about it when we saw it, now its going to be in WDW...what a small world

I would've backed you up mindflipper! I don't remember that thread. But, I remember...when we were there in '07 and in '08, we all sat down in Fantasyland with McD fries and a Coke...none of us spoke until it was all gone. Just something about being in WDW with those fries/Coke and good company. Never tasted so good! I'm sad it's gone.

I never heard of Pollo Campero. I'm gonna end up looking it up online. I would always first grab a burger and a soda as I walked Downtown Disney. Now I guess I'll walk around with a sandwich from Earl of Sandwich
