But Len90 - being left-handed is NOT a disability! I don't considered myself disable because I'm left-handed! Don't even consider yourself to be disabled! You're left-handed, proud and able to do anything a right-handed person can do (and more)!
It's more like they are discriminating against a segment of a population simply because they're left-handed!

Definitely didn't convey my point with my last posting. I was trying to show how there are laws that prevent from discriminating from somebody due to any sort of "disability" that sets them aside from the norm. We are (according to studies) a minority and differ from the norm. However, Rutgers is not making fair provisions for us.mindflipper wrote:But Len90 - being left-handed is NOT a disability! For example: Rutgers makes sure all rooms are handicapped accessible. However, they don't care if all rooms are lefty-friendly. Haven't had much sleep this week, and it is starting to show in my postings. Was unable to fully get my point out there

I understood you, Len. There is "discrimination" that is intentional, and then there is "discrimination" by omission. When an entity fails to take into consideration the legitimate needs of a segment of it's people, then by default those individuals are being discriminated against. Just because it's not intentional doesn't mean they shouldn't be held accountable. I'm not talking about punishing; I'm just saying that they should be informed, and then expected to take some kind of positive action, within reason.
So yes, make your concerns known, and show them that you expect to see some sort of reasonable results.

Don't we all get carried away...just got to keep it PG. TG for vague innuendo!

And Le90 - I see your point now since you've explained it better. I just didn't want you to lump "left-handed" in with the disabilities. Yes, you're being discriminated no differently than the disabled, but you're still not disabled and the ADA won't work for you. You would have to approach it as discrimination under the regular laws that govern that. Power to you, dude!

There are Right handed and left handed cats. How did you determine that your cat was left handed?mindflipper wrote:Talk about the craziest thing: for the first time tonight, I just realized that my cat is also left-handed. That makes her a true southpaw!
I have pictures to prove how cool my cats are!

The one with the earphones reminds me of my cat at Christmas. She loves to watch the ornaments in motion. I have a carousel ornnament with little mirrors and as it rotates around and around her head bobs back and forth watching it (just not as fast as the one in Jacca5660's post).
Jacca5660: Actually, I've noticed for years she favors her left paw over her right paw. Even vet makes a note to keep an eye out for the left paw to avoid getting scratched (she gets feisty at the vet).
