Bellagio & World of Color = both using a complex series of synchronized pressurized water fountains. It may not be on the scale of Bellagio, but it certainly took a page out of their book!

Wow lots of progress on the swings within a matter of two weeks. It looks like Captain EO will be opening within a week or so as all the plastic has been taken down from the TV screens.

Even I was amazed at how the progress of the swings is going. I didn't expect to see them getting all that up so fast but since they're going to be opening in April, it's good.

It seems like the sooner the better for DCA. The park is slowly coming around with things reopening, but they really need to get some more attractions going. Wonder which will end up opening first... the swings or WoC. Once those two are done, pretty much have three major phases of construction left.... if I am remembering everything. Cars land, Mermaid, and the Trolley.

Considering I have not watched any of the latest videos...I only have seen the pictures/artist renderings/preview videos that were shown during the D23 expo (granted, they weren't testing yet).

But from what I have seen....mindflipper, your analogy of Bellagio + Fantasmic! = WoC is exactly what I thought too...

...of course, that has nothing to do with the fact I live in Vegas  ....

That's pretty much what's left aside from Buena Vista Street (involving the removal of the Golden Gate Bridge and the C A L I F O R N I A letters in the front) and Hollywoodland. Here's what's planned:

Sorry, forgot about those. However, the Red Car Trolley seems like the most complex part right now with pedestrian routing. Isn't that going to go from the gate to ToT? Should cause lots of issues during peak season.

Yes, it is. I have no idea how they're going to make that work but I hope they know what they're doing.

Is this permanent or temporary?? I always wondered why they didn't re-brand the park name with all the changes being made and now makes me wonder if that removal is permanent if they're considering it.

I believe it will be a permanent thing.

The California Letters will be gone permanently. The entrance way will be completely rebuilt to look somewhat like the one in MGM Studios (DHS). As for the Silly Symphony Swings (SSS) they can build it quick but it will take about a month to certify it for use in the park.

Now that I found out the "California" and bridge entrance is gone, it does make me wonder if they might secretly be considering changing the park's name. DCA has had a bad rep - maybe giving it a new name after the expansion would help give it a new image. After all, Disney-MGM Studios got renamed to the Disney Hollywood Studios - so renaming a park is not unheard of. And frankly, the park name "California Adventures" hardly seems to apply anymore. Once you get rid of the Orange Stinger and add the whole CARS area - very little will be left to give the California feel. Maybe it should be called the "Disney Pixar Adventures"?

I haven't heard anything about them considering a name change but since they're pretty much dipping into nostalgia with certain points of the park, it does sound like a possibility.

The only difference is that MGM renaming was due to something that went on between Disney and MGM. A new name might be in order for the park. It would be interesting to see what they come up with. I personally doubt it would be Disney Pixar Adventures but it is a good possibility.
