My Wife and I are about to go out for an eight mile training run this morning. We didn't get the snow and ice, but the temperature is 44 degrees and dropping to 39 at noon!

Warming my Gatorade before leaving...

It went well. It was another cold run (in the 30s by the finish), it seems the weather just won't stabilize this winter. No Ice or snow on the trail, but a lot of mud!

We are scheduled to run another Half Marathon on Valentine's Day so we are going to decrease the distance on the next run to five miles, then run the race the next weekend.

I just did my first half in Austin over Valentines day. Saw information about this when i picked up my packet along with some of the other Disney Races. I am very interested and may make the 2011 my first full marathon if we can swing a vacation around it; also if my body will cooperate with running 26 miles.

It's not hard to become an addict to running road races. I've been an addict for 16 years now. Welcome to the club. 8-)

I was supposed to run the marathon this year. Didn't even make it to the USA never mind the start line....stupid weather  I'm so frustrated and hyper annoyed at not getting to run this year. (All those hours of training, the injuries, the physiotherapy, then to be denied by some snow three days before the event....aaaarggg) So until I calm down a bit, and can look to see if I can plan run training in with everything else in my life, I'm not sure I can commit the time and money to attempt the 2011.

If I do run in 2011 it will be probably be for the Goofy.
I'm all trained and prepped for a marathon and can easily do 15 miles on a Saturday and 15 miles on a Sunday right now. I just have to work the distance up a bit on the Sunday and then maybe look for a little more speed.

For every kind of Disney nut there is a website.

Lots of great info and advice.

Joe90,
I hope you can make it for the 2011 run. Maybe that can (somewhat) make up for 2010! :x

My Wife is at WDW now for the Princess Half Marathon this weekend. She finished the Goofy in January and will probably do the Marathon next year (if I sign up as well - no pressure).

Jacca5660,
Consider yourself included!

jrcohen,
Glad you will be there with us! I am beginning training soon for the race (it's a confidence thing) and hope everything goes well.

Update

The DW and I are half way through P90X. We finish the same day we leave for our annual WDW trip on May 1st. Then the real training begins. I'd love to do the Goofy as well, but with 2011 being our first marathon ever; it'll be the half for us! Keep training!

SO I'm trying to talk my MIL into run/walking the 5k at disney (any 5k) She says she wil not run. the more I can tell her about how fun and doable it is the better chance I have of making it. Fill me in on the good stuff.

Hmmm... Tell her she will walk MORE than this on almost any Disney trip, but she will get a medal for this :D. (and it really is fun) If you have a track nearby, get her to walk the entire distance of the race - this may take a few tries - then she will know she CAN do it.

... at least I think this is how my Wife got me into this
