OMG - There's a lot of music here!

Post by kylosme123 » Jan Thu 28, 2010 1:59 am

i'm sure we are all the same sort of people. We all love disney so much that we have found this radio station. i know i found it LOOKING for disney theme park music. and i know theres music for sale at amazon.com and other places. but there is so much on here. so i don't understand why disney dosnt just get together and make this a file buying area. i mean just about everythings here. and i know theres not much we can do about it. buy if it where me and i had all that SWEET music. i'd b sharing it all over the place. i know its wrong but its different for people like us. we arnt ripping some new JZ cd or anything like that. we are finding the music that reminds us of the place we all love to be. disney is kick ass and i plan on working there as a drummer. its a magical place with magical music.

We understand your feelings, but this site is not actually supported or sponsored by Disney in any way. It's a privately run site. So the "owners" have set it up in the way that they see fit, and that seems to be the way that works the best for what this site is intended to be. There have been many discussions about possible changes, but in the end, they will do whatever they feel is best, and we all just appreciate what we have here.
Welcome aboard, by the way.

Maybe you should add to your pole the selection of "100 songs or more". I've got tons of audio that takes up gigs of memory. I keep it on three separate hard drives to be safe I don't loose any of it.

Also, as Mousekedude said, welcome aboard. There's a thread for new members if you would like to post your introduction there:

Welcome to the site kylosme123.

Exactly like mousekedude said, we aren't run by Disney so we don't share files. I do totally agree with your statement how Disney should really look into sites like this and see that there's a demand for this kind of media. By listening Guests can be taken back to their visits and ultimately give them greater urges to visit again. If they were smart, they would hire me full time to do this which would have constant live shows, promotions, and sales. But nooooooooo, instead of being unique, they purchase things like Marvel.

I think Disney has been slow with the internet ventures after that whole "go network" disaster a few years back. They took some heavy losses on that.

Welcome to the site kylosme123!

It is a shame that disney does not have an "official" site similar to this, disboards, wdwmagic, or micechat. I personally think these are some of the best sites on the internet, of course subsonic is my favorite. The thing that makes this site even more magical is that all the admins run this site and take of everything on their spare time.

Sub, you mentioned live shows; it has been a VERY long time since we heard your voice over the stream. Last one that I recall listening to (that you hosted) your wife was still pregnant. Hope all is well with you and your family!

Good point, Len90! I think most people forget that subsonic and rdeacon do not work at this website as their primary job or for profit - this is a second job for them! I think both deserve a standing ovation for allowing us to enjoy this website!

I agree with you, mindflipper. They've put in a lot of their free time dedication here and I couldn't help but be eternally grateful.

As with some of us here, I have a very extensive personal collect of Disney music on a separate hard drive. That said, this Subsonic just has so much that you can't get through normal channels. I think down the road Sub might get a big surprise. I don't see Subsonic going on for a real long time before Disney tenders an offer to buy the site.

I'd like to thank everybody who works so hard to keep Subsonic going! I'd like to also include Skull, eagle4life69, and all the others that work behind the scene keeping Subsonic going. That does include all the MODS!! THANK YOU EVERYONE!!!Image

For those of you out there, PLEASE remember the SUBSONIC IS NOT A FILE SHARING SITE!!! That could draw Disney's attention in a VERY BAD WAY!!!Image

I agree with everyone, this site is AWESOME! And I can access it from work, which is always a plus ;) Love streaming that Disney park area music while I'm at my desk. Makes me imagine I'm working at WDW lol.
