I think I read that they will be complimenting each other. Maybe that is just utopian wishful thinking.

Maybe I'm crazy but I think that more attractions takes away from the point of the world showcase. The whole Idea is to experience another place not get thrills and chills and go fast. That is for other areas of the parks. I'm sure about pizza. I just moved on from a job with an itailian. I'm not sure "Pizza" would be what most people would expect.

For me, I love wood-burning oven pizza, so I'm excited.

True, but not all attractions are rides. One time they considered adding other interests of Italy. The Pavillion is based on Venice; they had planned to do an area based on Rome, such as the Roman Forum ruins.

I think they can still add attractions to Italy while adding a new restaurants.

I believe they can add an education attraction. There is so much history and beauty in Italy that is missed in the current pavilion. Don't get me wrong, I love it the way it is, but I think they could add more and "plus it".

I agree, there's more to Italy than Venice. Rome, Florence, Pompeii, and Sicily - it seems like they could have done something to capture parts of these locations as well.

But then again, UK is a poor version of antiquated generic rural village scene. It does not represent Nottingham, London, Bristol or Manchester.

Some pavillions just don't capture some of the countries that well.

Think about it, Italy is truly to diverse to capture it in one pavilion. You have to remember, until the 20th century, the whole country didn't even speak the same language. I'm FBI (Full Blooded Italian), my grandparents didn't speak the same Italian. My Grand Mother's (Fathers Mother) Italian (she was from the northern part of the country) was more German then Italian. She had to speak English to my other Grand Mother (she was from the southern part) they couldn't talk Italian to each other.

Wow, thanks for the info! It's nice to be able to have another option in EPCOT, and wood fired pizza sounds great! Let's meet there next fall when it opens!

I hope the Pizzeria is open by the Food and Wine Festival. My DW grew up in Naples, Italy and has told me so much about the pizza there, I can't wait to try it!

Oops, just drooled on the keyboard...

We will be in WDW for the F&W race if anyone wants to meet in Italy

I think I read somewhere that it will be open Sept. 1st. Of course that is probably not a firm date. I hope it is though because that will be while I'm down there!

I can't believe it took them this long to build a pizzeria in Italy...

Either way, Italy needs more than just a restaurant in that area. My opinion.

I too am looking forward to trying it out. The sound of (hopefully and finally) some really good pizza at WDW is great, IMO.

The truth will be in the pudding though, I mean Pizza. Let's hope they get it right. BTW, I love wood fired pizza also!!!

When it does finally open, whoever goes there needs to post "restaurant review" here in this thread so that we all will know what it is like.

I know right? You'd think they would of added it sooner.
