I think we had a post going on this sometime ago?! But, Disney sorts through their trash and recycles.

On our last trip when we did Dive Quest, they no longer give out plastic bags for your wet swim suit, they give you a reuseable bag now. It replaces the t-shirt you used to get, which is a bummer. But, if it's helping the environment, I'm all for it!

I would suggest taking the "Behind the Seeds" tour in The Land at Epcot. They do quite a bit of "green" talking there. Lot's of interesting things to learn about what Disney is doing for the environment.

We did the Behind the Seeds Tour on our past trip...we LOVED it! I would highly recommend this tour! Always use your Disney Visa for a discount!

I found the thread that had discussed all of these issues:

There might be a couple of more threads on here that talked about it.

Just a breif summary of what I recall reading:
- Buses use B20 fuel. It is slightly better than Diesel
- Steam engines for trains run on biodiesel
- Diseny reclaims water and uses it for watering grounds alongside the roads
- Option to reuse your towels
- Recycling bins all over EPCOT and popping out more and more in the other parks

I believe they used solar power for the cooling stations and they also use solar power to partially power some of the attractions.

The Universe of Energy has been partially powered by the photo-voltaic cells on the exterior of its building since it opened in 1982, but they have developed more efficient solar power panels since then.

The napkins at all of the counter service restaurants and food stands are made from recycled material.

They incinerate their garbage, creating electricity, which they use to supply power throughout. Any excess, they sell.

I almost hesitate to post this here since there already was a thread on the subject, but since this one isn't locked yet, allow me to submit this little tidbit:
They now have paper straws instead of plastic. I hate them! Yuck!

Seems like the paper straws are everywhere now. Last year I only remember them in a couple spots, but this year they were everywhere we ate (that is, everywhere I needed a straw...)
