This sounds like the best idea to me. What is the feasibility of something like that?Club33Hopeful wrote:How about leaving it at 24 hours for everyone else except the person who requested it last. Make the time maybe 72 hours for the person who requested it last. That would stop one person from requesting the same song everyday at 2am, effectively keeping it out of the listening loop for everyone else...
Any chance for less than 24 hours

That's a good idea. Can you submit it to the tracker?Club33Hopeful wrote:How about leaving it at 24 hours for everyone else except the person who requested it last. The tracker does not seem to be responding. Is it still at: http://server.subsonicradio.com/tracker ? I'll try again later.

72 hours is looong time not to be able to request a song...
FWIW, if it was 36, then it would be back in the loop (not just always at 2 a.m.)
Seems to me like the late night listeners sort of try to just request weird stuff, so everyone can hear the popular things during the day... So maybe the stats support this being a problem, but I don't see it...

No, no... He's got a point.
I changed the limit to re-request at "around 25" hours. Now people won't be able to keep tracks as easially of when to request tracks again. Sure they can see the regen, but it won't be every day at 9am or whatever.

Is there no way to change the timing to 12 hours? I know people don't want to hear thing repeated twice a day. Heaven forbid. You say because people are repeating things that you never get to hear certain songs. There are songs I have never heard because they are always requested when I'm not available to listen. Then when I am, it is never in the queue because someone else did it 12 hours ago...everyday! So, are you sure you won't reconsider 12 hour?

I can't satisfy everybody. The time constraint is there for those people who have been listening to this station for over several months. It's tough for new people who want to hear something immediately. I try can meet at a middle point for what I like and what others like. Consider me selfish, but if I don't enjoy the station, then I won't be motivated to make it better.
Again, it'll make things easier when I put in a countdown timer.
