I agree with Elizabethswann: the Tomorrowland shot is really great, Len.

Oh, and Boilerbabe: I highly recommend anything above 5 m.p. in the Sony Cybershot series of cameras. But you knew that, of course.....

Oh yeah Boilerbabe...that's a great reason to go! At the same time I think you should compare cameras. Get a cheap one ...go to your nearest Disney Theme Park for lets say a week...take night photos....come back ...think to yourself you really didn't like how it took those night pictures...return camera...buy new camera...and start the whole process over. Repeat until satisfied with your photos... :)
Thanks a lot! I seriously did test a couple of cameras before we went away. My two year old Canon SD850IS finally started to go after all the abuse and over 10,000 pictures. Lucky I bought the extended warranty! When replacing it, I tested numerous cameras in the store and then tested it severely after purchase. My first one was a Panasonic Lumix ZS1. Camera performed horrendous under my testing standards and was returned. Second was the Canon SD970IS. Underwent the same vigorous tests and I deemed it acceptable to take to Disney World with me. I have since fell in love with it. It is 12.1 MP, 5x optical, and can still fit in my pocket. A good camera to use everyday when the Digital Body is too much to carry around.

As for all the compliments about those pictures, thank you very much. Fireworks are the most challenging thing that I have taken pictures of. The focus is easily thrown off and the timing has to be precise to get that perfect shot. Trust me when I say I have plenty of horrendous shots for each one of these "good" pictures. The picture of the fireworks over Tomorrowland is one of my favorites that I have taken at Disney World. I would call it a VERY lucky shot!

One of these days I'm going to need to upgrade my camera. Right now I'm using a Canon Powershot SD1100 but one of these days I'd love a Canon EOS 40D.

I'll dig through some of my older vacations when I have more time (and it's at a more appropriate hour). Elizabethswann, as for getting a 40D, it's a good body. My brother and I have a 30D but it is the lens that really makes the camera. Just remember the weight of a body and lens is magnified by walking around in the heat at the parks.

Precisely! Which is why I opted not to get one of the bigger more expensive units. Of course, mine was not exactly dirt cheap at almost $400, but still, it was a good balance between quality and value with comfortable portability. I still love it.

Hmmmmm, since I got a digital camera, I haven't had a chance to get back to WDW. Every time something happens and my chance gets cancelled. Starting to think the camera is a bad luck charm. :mickey:

lol, it could be...I wonder if that's covered under the warranty.

Here is one more from inside the Mexico Pavilion showing the market place.

Oh my god, that is a beautiful shot. I seem to keep staring at the fountain a lot more than the background.
