Hello everyone. I am sorry it has been so long, our life is a little crazy right now. While I write day 6 here are a few pictures from day 5 that my mother took at the Flights of Wonder show. It took me 5 trips to the world before I took the time to see this show. I only wish I had seen this sooner. The birds are spectacular.

Be back soon with day 6 and 7. :mickey:

Wow what a fantastic trip so far.

Mousekedude....I'm not telling my wife about this because the only way to compete would be to expand the hunt to take you through all the Disney Parks and I don't have the vacation time saved up for a trip around the world.

Mouseholic....I can't even imagine what it must have been like for you. You must have been exhilerated.

Seriously, great style you have there....it's been wonderful reading about it , I can't wait for more.

Well, well! Guess what! We finally have some pictures from our professional photographer to illustrate the special events on Day 2! If you’re not familiar with the story so far, please go back and read my post about Day 2 from December 27th, 9:38 p.m. to get the substance of what we’re talking about. As promised, the following pictures are highlights of that event. Okay, here we go:

This is us "finding" the story book.
Image

Here's the book itself.
Image

Here's some shots of us reading the book together. Take special note of Amber's reactions.

At the end of the book, we get our instructions to start searching for clues.

So we are now on our way to look for clues.

Finding clues.

Mission accomplished! Thank you, thank you....

A well-deserved rest after the fun.

Well, there's about a gazillion more pictures we could have posted, but I think this is enough for y'all to get the idea. We really had fun.
Now, stand by for a continuation of the story with Day 6 by Amber.

M-dude, that was awesome, you old romantic! (sniff, sniff) - sinuses, and that tear is from a watery, itchy eye - yeh, that's it, and I'm sticking to it...

...glad you included the HM on your little adventure, my home away from home... :hm_ghost:

Thanks, Mindflipper. Now, let the mayhem continue......

Day 7, Monday December 14, 2009

Narrative by Mousekedude (believe it or not….)

I’m glad I get to tell the story today, because…. I… got…. something…. to….. SAAAAY!!!!! (fear not, though, my DW has approved of my telling this story. It’s all funny to us now, although it sure wasn’t at the time).

ImageUnpleasantness to follow!! Be forewarned! Image

Meltdown!!! Meltdown!!!!! (sound of air-raid siren… *beeeoooooop!!!* *beeeeeooooop!!!!*)

Remember how at the end of her Day 6 narrative, DW said that we hit the wall and a meltdown was imminent? Well……
Day 7 started off innocently enough. Gorgeous weather, early start, headed to MK for our breakfast reservation at Crystal Palace, made it almost on time, looked like all was well. Or so I thought…. (ominous theme music from Jaws… du-dum….du-dum…du-dum… etc.)

Since we were already running a little late, Amber told me to go ahead and run in to CP and get us checked in while she and her parents made a quick restroom pit stop. So like an obedient little puppy I did as I was told. Then, I waited for them to arrive…. and I waited…. and waited…. and waited…. meanwhile the hostess called our name. I had to explain that the family had gone to the restroom and would be right back. She gave me a withering look that said “yeah, right, dude, you tried to scam the system by getting signed in early before your party was here, didn’t you?â€

Sorry for the meltdown, mouse-couple.

One bad side effect to long stays at Disney World can be after a few days - all that walking, standing, waiting, dealing with the other people in park - the nerves can get frayed. Then add heat during the summer - the ultimate pressure cooker - and it brings it all to a rapid boil much quicker (you guys didn't have the heat; otherwise, the meltdown may have come quicker!). Maybe next time pencil a little downtime at the hotel in the schedule between all that time in the parks? Taking a note from the double-boilers, I remember they spent one morning getting a massage and then spent time at the fitness center. Another morning at the pools/slides. Sometimes it helps to kick back and relax a little on those long trips.

Glad you didn't have pictures of the meltdown & make-up - just not momentos you want to have of the trip.

Look forward to the next post. It's Disney World - and we need a happy ending!!! :mickey:

Glad you two were able to resolve the meltdown. It happens, like mindflipper stated! As long as you were able to talk it out and enjoy the rest of your vacation. :)

DH and I had a slight meltdown the evening we were in DHS we went to see the Osborne Family Lights and I wanted to stand in a very loooong line for the photopass guy and DH did not. He could not understand why we could not just have the same picture taken with our own camera by our friend that was with us?! It's just not the same. Anyway, we worked it out! Meltdowns happen in Disney, but they always have a happy ending!

I am glad to know it is not just the Magic Kingdom. I was beginning to think I could actually plan the meltdown and put it on the agenda since for us it always seems to happen at MK. =) I will be on the lookout at DHS too.

We laugh about it now. What I really feel bad about is my mom really was so upset by the event because she was the one who wanted onion rings. I am always trying to please them and so this is what started it all. She felt so bad when she woke up from her nap her eyes were bloodshot. She was relieved to know we worked it out and we could now laugh about it.

What I remember the most was the expression on the faces of the people at Casey's Corner when I asked my DH what he got me. I could not understand what they were looking at. Later when it all sunk in and I realized how I made Michael feel, I felt very bad. But it was funny! LOL

As long as you two can laugh about it now and your mom knows it was not her fault, then it's o.k.! :D

BTW, love the nighttime shots of WS, we have similar ones from the night we stayed to watch Illuminations! I just love WS when it's empty, so beautiful! Also, love the shot of the fountain!

Sorry about the meltdown. Sometimes when my wife gets very tired she blows up at me, too. She's always very apologetic after she cools down, though. It's one of the hazards of marriage, I suppose, but it's worth it :)

I love your pictures of EPCOT at night, and the ones with the storybook are positively adorable; I just hope my wife doesn't see them! :D

You know, we all have meltdowns...and the best part is resolving them. It may not be the best memory, but you won't forget it. ;) Sometimes those moments turn into the funniest aspects of the trip.

On a happier note, I really enjoyed the pictures from your "event"...especially the last one of the 2 of you. You two, to quote Future Guy, "are positively adorable".
