Post by Boilerdude » Dec Mon 21, 2009 2:19 pm

Just got this emailed to me:

Travel Dates: January 3 – June 3, 2010

Walt Disney World has released a special Magic Your Way package deal for the travel dates listed above, where you can receive up to a $750 Disney Gift Card for free with your stay. There are a few requirements:

A minimum 5 night stay
A minimum 5 day Magic Your Way park pass
You must stay at a Disney World resort (Swan, Dolphin and Downtown Disney area resorts do not qualify)
You must check in during the Travel Dates
Availability is extremely limited, especially during January and February. Blackout dates include March 27 – April 11, 2010. You may not check in during the black out dates.

You will receive the Disney Gift Card at check in, it cannot be used to pay for part of your package. You must pay your package in full 45 days before travel. The gift card can be used anywhere in the Walt Disney World resort theme parks and resorts that accept credit cards, including restaurants, gift shops and to pay for your charges against your room. It can also be used at many Walt Disney World Downtown Disney merchants, at the Disneyland Resort, on the Disney Cruise or at the Disney Store. It can also be used to pay for a future Disney vacation. For more information about the Disney Gift Card, click here.

Gift Card Amounts:

$300 – Disney World Value Resorts
$500 – Disney World Moderate Resorts
$750 – Disney World Deluxe Resorts
$750 – Disney World Deluxe Villa Resorts
Please note that you cannot combine discounts. If you have booked a Disney World vacation during the travel dates above with a previously released discount, you must compare your existing reservation with this offer to see which gives you the best discount.

I'd seriously love to do that sometime in the summer.

Very interesting. I am anxiously awaiting to see what they announce for the end of June into the beginning of July. I am really hoping they do the Buy 4 Get 3 free again.

The only problem I have with deals like this is the clause that you cannot apply any other offers or discounts. Since NOBODY should ever pay rack rates for a hotel room, I wonder if you couldn't do better in savings with a discount over five nights.

for example, if you stay six nights and were able to save $125 off the rack rate for a deluxe room by using a discount code or AP discount, that's $750 back in your pocket, not on a gift card.
No one's gloomy or complaining while the flatware's entertaining.

I'm heading down on the 6th but using DVC points for the room. I haven't bought the park tickets yet. I usually do that at check in. I wonder if they'll bend the rules a bit for me. We'll see!

Kind of.

I booked a trip through Disney (UK) a couple of months ago. This offer has been on in the UK for a while now. And the gift cards on the UK offer are worth more than the US ones, it seems.

For my stay at Pop Century in February-March, I get a $350 gift card for my troubles :) The rates for the UK offer are:

Value: $350
Moderate: $550
Deluxe: $750
Deluxe Villa: $1000

Interestingly, on the UK offer I can't see any mention of it being a limited offer, and it doesn't include blackout dates (and has a larger date range alltogether). The UK offer is available for stays between 3 Jan and 18 May 2010 (booked before 15 Feb).

Details on the UK offer are here.

Proof that Disney likes its UK guests more? ;)
