They could throw all the old and outdated attraction films over to Hollywood Studios as a retro drive-in movie theme, complete with a double feature or maybe a movie marathon theme in an old style theater.

That would be great! Have the different movies rotating throught the day...it would make a nice downtime in the heat of the day. The only question is, where would it go?

In DLR, I could picture them putting it in DCA in the old, abandoned Hollywood and Dine building (for those who aren't familiar with it, it is basically a very large warehouse). They could kind of design it like the sci-fi drive-in at DHS (updated, of course). Maybe there could be car-like booths, each with their own screen/sound system, complete with a touch screen menu to choose what you would like to watch. Offer a variety of movies (from outdated attraction movies to various Disney cartoons, old and new). There would have to be a way of blocking out the sound from the surrounding "cars" as to not disturb your viewing, but I'm certain it could be done.

And in the same fashion (touch screen), you could order your food too...it would make for a very modern restaurant with a very classic feel.

Well, I guess it's official...according to the Disney blog, EO will be coming back for a limited engagement in February 2010.

I read about that and I'm still not really interested. They should at least update the theater and put something of interest there.

I think that will be the plan eventually. This is just Disney's way of capitalizing on those of us who loved EO (and Michael Jackson). HISTA is so poorly attended and EO will bring people in until they find a suitable replacement.

...granted the youngsters will probably take one look at it and laugh! (but it was awesome back in the day)

The thing is that since it's a limited engagement, I hope that they have plans of putting something new there instead of bringing back HISTA.

I'm pretty sure that's the plan...but of course, we all know how that goes. I have heard that they've been looking for a replacement for HISTA (as Al mentions in an article).

(I have not seen Monster's Inc Laugh Floor, but I have heard it's not that great)

...the only thing I like about HISTA is the Institute Theme song.

I wouldn't mind seeing the Philharmagic since I've been hearing good things about it.

Philharmagic is awesome.

Now how about some Captain EO for Epcot? I'd quite like to see that while I'm there in Feb/March 2010 since I've not seen it before...

HISTA is a little bit outdated, I mean how many people today under the age of 25 even remember the movie it's based on?

Perhaps the Captain EO thing will only be temporary while they come up with a replacement.

They could do a Ratatouille attraction and keep the mouse tails under the seats. Have it debut during food and wine 2010?
They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.

Please, NO!!!!!!! No Captain Eo for EPCOT! Unlike most people, I thought Captain Eo was one of the worst 3D films they ever made! I thought HISTA was an improvement. They need to find something to replace HISTA - but not Eo. That's a bad step backwards! :(

I agree with mindflipper, I was not a fan of EO. HISTA needs severely needs a refurb, that whole pavilion in Epcot needs help! I say bring back the Dreamfinder with Figgy!

Wow! Not alone?!? Thanks, boilerbabe!

Just because Michael Jackson died (god rest his soul), doesn't make Captain Eo suddenly better than it was. It was poorly made. It looks like they spent less money on it than they did on his music videos! Plus, it so dated - it has that bad 80's feel to it - why bring it back now? Let it just get buried on layers of dust, please....

Put something new and better in EPCOT. Retire HISTA and Captain Eo! :x :!:

Bring back the Alien Encounter even though that was in the Magic Kingdom. I've always wanted to ride it.
