There is the clue - acccording to imaginationcelebrations - that where-ever this place is, it's somehow its not Disney "owned". Disney owns both the Little Mermaid and Toy Story.

Sorry, not Toy Story Mania or the Mermaid show.

That's right, it's inside of a disney park, but is not owned by Disney. The Rainforest Cafe guess that Mindflipper had or the Dolphin/Swan guess that Boilerdude had are good examples...they are in "The World" but are not owned by Disney. The difference is that this structure is literally inside of one of the parks.

It's not a ride

It's not a show

It's two stories tall

It's bright purple and has other colors

It does not have one eye, one horn or fly....

The only thing I could think of is the Planet Hollywood Store in DHS.

That might be right.....

http://blogs.orlandosentinel.com/featur ... -yeti.html

From the fourth paragraph...

"I’m not sure who should take the biggest blame. Certainly Landry’s Restaurants, the company that operates Y & Y as well as Rainforest Café just outside the park’s gate, should take a big part of the responsibility. It’s their food, after all, and they should be ashamed to serve it."

Thanks, kcarts! I can agree with that review about the Rainforest Cafe - the worst meal I ever had at WDW was at that Rainforest Cafe at AK. Now that I know Y&Y is owned and operated by the same company, I gonna steer clear of it in the future.

That's interesting. I'm heading down in January with some friends (one is running the marathon) and one of our ADRs is for T-Rex, also O/O by the Landry's chain. maybe I'll skip that one and just have a burger at ESPN.

I know we're off topic here, but I just have to add that we've eaten at both T-rex and the Rainforest Cafe, and I'm a little disappointed by both. IMHO, the quality of the food doesn't really measure up to the quality you would expect from Disney. But then again, they are not really Disney, are they? The Rainforest in particular was disappointing to me because we have a couple locations in our area, and they are much better than the one at AK. They even have real sparklers (fireworks) on the Volcanoes (desserts), whereas the AK one had only fake plastic ones.

Okay, enough ranting. Back to the guessing game......

Boilerdude got it. It's the Yak & Yeti. The photo is from the opening day of the restaurant. We tried getting in the day before but they were only serving staff and management as a dry run. We thought it was an excellent place to eat and went a few times during our trip. You can have a good view of the Jammin Jungle Parade from the top floor in the area on the left side of the photo.
