What color would everyone here like to see on the train that debuts next year?
We are all a little weird
And life's a little weird,
And when we find someone whose
Weirdness is compatible with ours,
We join up with them and fall in
Mutual weirdness and call it Love.”

Amaranthine, amethyst, lavender, lilac, mauve, mulberry, plum :?

How about Heliotrope or magenta. Bright PinkyPurples.

I think I would go for a violet.

Lavender Blue? (dilly dilly) :)

Azure? Olive? Sea Green? Puce? Goldenrod? Mac 'n' Cheese? (sorry, got into my box of crayolas again)

They're running out of "normal" color names...

I personally would love to see monorail White. It would be the perfect complement to monorail Black.

I forgot that there was a monorail black....it's the villain train I guess ;)

White makes sense.

I know they are retiring pink and purple, but I kind of like the idea of a magenta or some such color that combines the 2 colors as a "living" memorial. I think it would be better than some other shade of either pink or purple. (example: lavender or violet are too close to be new train colors I think)

Is that insensitive do you think? I'm sorry if it is...I'm not trying to be..I'm trying to think of a way to remember Austin in a positive light, not a negative accident) :mickey:

They already have a yellow/black, so that's close enough to Purdue colors for me, I'm happy. :D

How about something completely different? What if the entire exterior was a shiny silver, glittering gold, or bronzed/copper look? What about a tye-dye paint exterior? Let loose and go wild... 8-)

Well, for all of you wanting an update as to the status of what is going on, here it is. Monorail soon to be Teal is a full train that is currently being tested on the spur line between the Monorail Shop and MK line. It is not painted yet and is masked to hide the identity of the previous colors. There are pictures floating around.

The twelfth train is going to be the rebuilt damaged ends. The only thing not new to the end cars will be the chassis. Everything else (fiberglass shells, windscreens, controls) will be brand new and made to resemble the other 11 trains in the fleet.

Nice "SCOOP" Len!! Where are you getting the inside info? OH, that's right, you now have "MOD" SUPER POWERS!!!

Yellow/Black = Boiler Maker. Isn't that a beer with a shot of scotch in it?

Yes I know! My dad had so many stories about Purdue and the BOILER makers. They sure lived up to it in the day! It brings back some fond memories. ;+>

I had to look up Teal.

Good old Wikipedia " The complementary color of teal is coral pink."

Monorail Coral is going to have a complementary coloured sibling. :)

I wonder if they picked this from the HTML 4.01 color names? or are they going for the X11 for a bigger selection later?

When we find out the new colour I guess we can look to see if it is on the list.

Monorail "Khaki" Hmmmm....That would be different. :?

What about an olive or drab (or even camo) monorail, in support of our troops? It seems only appropriate.
