Forum Email Notifications

As per our hosting provider we can no longer send out email notifications in regards to the forum posts. So replies to forum posts and private messages will no longer get sent to you as an email. This basically means you will have to log in and check the forums rather then getting notifications via email that someone replied to your post. This will not effect most of you as out of the 6500+ users I had to disable less then 100 accounts.

The rest of the the forum functionality will remain.

Aw, that's a bummer. I usually rely on my emails for whenever I'm sent PMs but I still check here either way.

no.. only 100 people, acutally less ever opted to get the reply notifications. The private message email notifications was a lot higher...

I think that's down to the defaults. By default, thread post notifications were always off, but PM notifications are always on. Even so, it's no big deal that they're turned off. I'd rather have the site here than have the host shut it down for sending too much email

Rich I hate to sound dense, plain English, are we getting E-mail notices? I'm so confused, blame the meds!!

From what I have gathered and from just getting a PM with no email, I take it that we will not be getting any emails from the site anymore. I only had it set for PM's since I always forget to check the upper left corner when I am on the boards to see if I have any messages. It was always good to have the email reminder. Hopefully we can get them back one day (along with that post counter thingy

). However, I would definitely rather have the forum over the emails. I would never be able to go a day without this great little place on the web.

Your welcome jacca! Glad to have been able to help you. I honestly never really thought about becoming a mod, but if rdeacon or the site ever need any help, I would love to try and give back to the site.
