Adios, Ed Grier

Post by disneydreamer58 » Oct Mon 05, 2009 3:57 pm

Saw this online "Adios, Ed Grier. Disneyland will need a new President now (no announcement yet)." I guess CM's got word but no offical announcement from Disney yet.

Hummmm, who would you want to see as Pres besides Sub  though I think he would make a great one!! LOL

I don't see any news on Micechat and that's usually my first place to search for Disney news.

I have Kevin Yee (from MiceChat) as one of my FB friends and he posted it, so I tend to believe it being true more so that if I just heard it through the grapevine, but we shall see.

I saw it on Twitter via @DLtoday, if this is true I can only say this:

THANK FSM!!!!!!!!!

He needed to go long ago. The man never stepped foot in Disneyland, the only times he did were for "special" occasions and even then he was reading from a script.

Let me put it in perspective of how the CM's feel about him. At the Marty Skylar window dedication many current and former CM's were making speech's and laughing about old stories and old jokes that have been going around the park since Marty started. Then Ed Grier gets up to the podium and starts his speech, which had jokes in it (including one that was already told by one of the imagineers, which shows he wasn't paying attention) but the only people that laughed were the Yes men/women that work directly for Grier. All of the other CM's in the crowd just stood there and when Grier was done they golf clapped him off. More CM's got up to tell stories and the laughter resumed.

All's I am saying is he won't be missed in the least, and especially by the die hard Disney folk.

I didn't know too much about him, but sounds like he wasn't real loved. Hopefully there is someone new who really loves Disneyland!
Drop another coin in slot and I will tell you more.

I agree with you Dr. I didn't know much about him until I started seeing posts and reading online articles. Hopefully, though it doesn't seem to be the norm at Disney, they will bring someone on board that truly loves everything that the name Disney encompasses. Too bad there isn't clone of Walt out there somewhere!
