Heck, no! :x
On the topic of the Tiki Room, Foxxfur wrote a post on "Passport to Dreams Old & New" that puts the show in a whole new light. I am not saying that she is correct in her assessment, but if she is, then it makes me respect the imagineers for their ingenuity in dealing with the Eisner-era stuffed shirts.
I read that article and agree with some of its points. It's just too bad that the other nihilists out there (and that includes you, Captain Schneemo) still refuse to see the light and keep allowing their passions to prevent them from showing courtesy and respect.

You make it sound sinister...the "fan community" isn't anything other than people who like Disney products.

Very simply...Disney used to make one sort of thing and now they make a different thing. Not everyone likes the same thing, and it's reasonable to assume that if someone is interested in something, it's because they liked how it was when they started paying attention to it. If that changes, opinions will change. Some people, of course, will like both.

Simple analogy: Let's say I'm allergic to strawberries. For years, I've been going to this place to get great blueberry pies. Now they don't sell them any more, and instead they sell strawberry pies.

I'm not a bad person or a "nihilist" (I do not think that word means what you think it means ) because I don't want the strawberry pie. Thinking happy thoughts or devotion to the company for years of great blueberry pies and certainly discussion on the Internet is not going to make me enjoy having my face blow up like an airbag when I try to eat the strawberry pie.
Stop saying that the non-fanatical guests are dumb.
You really do hate the second-generation Imagineers?!
You have reading comprehension issues.
Well, then, you're not a Disney fan at all!
In the general case, a "fan" likes something due to its innate qualities. If Columbia Pictures puts out a good movie, I might be a fan of that film, but that doesn't mean I'm going to defend every Columbia film from then on.

If you want to be a fan of multinational corporation, that's fine, I guess, but then we're not having the same discussion as those who are talking about the merits of various works of entertainment.
