Absolutely. Other than an initial fastpass or two for the hardest rides, by afternoon, you want to see what your timing options are before you grab your next fp.GoCubsGo wrote:Don't like the idea unless the post the current stand-by wait time versus the fp return time, so you can compare the two times to see which is better.
Any feedback from the New Fastpass test?

Just got back, it works great. They have it at Animal Kingdom, go towards the right side of the Tree of Life. They have a Fastpass area set up with a sign on each indicating which ride it is for. We stopped and got a Fastpass for Everest and went on to walk towards the Safari to ride that. By the time we were off the Safari, it was time to go to Everest. I hope they do a centralized location at each park. Two thumbs up!

I liked it because the FP's were still available at the attractions AND at the central location. If they changed that, I don't think I would like it.
And, another reason why it seemed to work well is b/c not all guests knew about it so there weren't long lines at the central location. If it was well publicized this might be different.

Sounds like less effort to get onto the rides you really want to. I think the simple concept is that it is a time saver and Disney may be seeing it as the time not spent walking to Everest, Safaris or Dinosaur (all at the outer perimeter of the park) is possibly more time to spend some money.
Are we there yet? When can we go back?
I don't know what's worse, the anticipation of going or the withdrawals after getting home.

I did use it last week twice.
I thought it would be chaos, it wasn't bad because few people were using it or the public didn't know it was there...
Both times were for the safari, it was nice NOT to have to trudge all the way back to Africa for the pass. Maybe we missed it but I didn't see Kali River Rapids, I picked that one up at the usual ride location.
Like others have said you dont know your return time until you print out your fast pass.

Yeah like someone who grabbed a FP for EE then went on Safari..That is a good decision as it does save alot of walking time if you were to walk all the way to EE then back to safari.
I know this is probably your first flight...and it's mine too...ha, ha

If I remember right, you could only get one FP at a time. Is that correct? If so, I think the idea is flawed. For instance: I grab my fastpass for EE at the entrance and head over to do the safari. Great, I do that, head over to EE and ride. Now, I want to ride EE again in a bit but the standby line is too long. Where before, I could just grab another FP at the ride and walk the Jungle Trek until it was time to ride again, I have to walk all the way back to the entrance. Or if I even wanted to ride Kali after EE, and the line was too long, I could just grab an FP there and walk the Jungle Trek and grab a bite to kill time. Again, now I have to walk all the way back to the entrance.
So, unless you can grab multiple FPs at the entrance, I don't see how this idea is any good.
Just my opinion.

I think they chose the worst park to test this in. Let's face it, DAK isn't exactly a park you need to be using a lot of FPs for. I can do everything I want to do in that park (including all of the attractions that have FP there) w/o a FP and still be done by like 2 pm. Maybe even a few re-rides. It's also a park that isn't nearly as cluttered w/ people, particularly at the centralized location, as other parks. The cental location for MK is the hub, and that's crowded enough as it is. You drop FP central by the Partners statue or somewhere on Main Street and you're going to have a madhouse. Now let's consider a FP intensive park, like DHS, where you basically need a FP to ride TSM or you're killing a lot of time waiting in line. DHS also has RnRC and ToT, both of which tend to draw substantial crowds, though ToT not so much these days (or at least my most recent trips) and RnRC has a much faster single-riders line. Regardless, I feel like a FP hub will be a feeding frenzy w/ ALL of these attractions' FPs at one location- TSM is already like blood in the water at it's current FP location.
